Ben nodded. “Maybe give her some time. That was intense.”

“Yeah.”

“So, do you think we invite her to live with us? How’s this going to work?” Ben’s whisper was soft, but I could hear the worry.

“We’ll make it work.”

Ben frowned. “We’re all so busy.”

“We’ll make it work,” I said again, maybe to convince myself. “She’s ours. Now that we know, we can’t go back.”

“We can’t ask her to quit her job.” Ben shook his head. “I start teaching this summer. Griff travels all the time. You work crazy hours at the restaurant.”

“I’ll cut back.” I’d been working nonstop as a distraction, trying to keep my mind occupied so that I didn’t think about the past. Tracy changed everything. She didn’t make the memories go away, but she made me feel like I could manage them.

“That won’t solve the problem.”

I held up my hand. “We might have to take it slow anyway. She’s skittish. We’ve got to think long term.”

A lifetime.

Ben sighed. “You’re right.” His lips turned up in a half-smile. “We need a bigger house.”

“Yep.”

Two images sprang to mind instantly, so vivid they seemed real. A proper nest, dimly lit and covered in soft cushions. And Tracy smiling and pregnant. I closed my eyes, and I could almost hear running feet and children’s laughter.

“You see it too?” Ben breathed.

“Yeah. I do.”

I felt a spike of anxiety from Griff through the bond, a second before I heard rustling coming from the living room. Ben and I both went on alert. Wewalked over to the edge of the nest, and I almost lost it.

Tracy had Griff’s nipple between her teeth. She groped his chest and abs, making contented humming sounds as she kissed her way over his pecs. I bent over at the waist and held my breath to stifle a laugh when I saw his expression. He looked utterly confused, maybe even terrified.

Ben had it together enough to speak, and he brought out his alpha voice. “Griff is worried he hurt you, baby. Be a good?—”

I hit his shoulder before he could call her an omega.

“—be good and suck his cock. It’ll relax him.”

Griff’s eyes went comically wide.

Tracy looked up at Ben with a smirk, then started licking her way down Griff’s chest. Her head disappeared under the blanket.

For a second, Griff’s emotions were all over the place. Then his eyes rolled back in his head.

I didn’t try to hide my shit-eating grin as Ben and I turned toward the kitchen.

“Breakfast will be ready in ten. Don’t ruin your appetite, Tracy.”

GRIFFIN

I was going to kill Ben and Michael… Later.

How would they feel if it’d been one of them going into a rut? Taking her that hard. Being so mindless.
