"Are you looking for this?" Michael asked as he waved a little piece of paper in the air.

She felt the color drain from her face. Shit. He had the piece of paper from her hand. This wasn't good. Why hadn't she had better control over her body? Why did she have to pass out?

"Take a couple deep breaths in for me," Daddy said. "Can you do that for Daddy?"

She continued to look at Michael, but more specifically the piece of paper in his hand. Had he read it? She hoped he hadn't, but were the odds of that?

"Sofia," Daddy said. "Look at me."

She continued to look at the note. Maybe she could play it off that it wasn't important, and he would give it back to her.

“Now,” Daddy commanded.

Her eyes went to him, and he didn’t look happy.

“Breathe,” he said. “In. Hold it. And out. Good girl. Can you do that again? No, don’t look over at him again. Look at me.”

She hadn’t even realized her eyes were moving back to Michael, until Daddy said something.

“Good girl,” Daddy said. “Mygood girl.”

She blushed and continued to look at him.

“Now, can you tell Daddy if that was the first note you received?”

Sofia opened her mouth, ready to tell him yes, but he started to speak before she could.

“Don’t you think about lying. You’re already owed your punishment from walking home alone when I told you at the interview not to. You don’t want to add more to your punishment,” Daddy said.

Her eyes went wide. How did he know she was going to lie? Sofia also didn’t think he was actually going to punish her but maybe she was wrong. It had been several days since he had caught her walking home and he had said she would get punished, but never did anything.

For a second, she thought he was all bark and no bite, but he just proved her wrong. Or well, he was about to. He had brought up the punishment again and she could just see it in his eyes that he was going to follow through.

“No,” she softly said.

“No, what?” Michael asked.

“No, it wasn’t the first note.”

She looked down at her hands, not wanting to see either of their reactions. What were they going to say?

“When did you get your first one?” Daddy asked.

“Before my shift started,” she whispered.

“And why didn’t you come to tell me?”

She clasped her hands together and took a deep breath. Why hadn’t she come to her Daddy? She didn’t want to bother him or make him worry about things. He already worried about her enough and she didn’t want to add onto it.

“Sofia,” Daddy said. “Tell Daddy.”

“I didn’t want to make you worry about me,” she barely managed to get out.

It was stupid, but it was so true. Ever since she started to work here, he had asked her questions about her taking her breaks on time and now worrying about her in general.

“Baby,” Daddy said. “Look at me.”

She slightly lifted her head and looked at his chin.
