Even if she wanted to, she couldn't because she didn't have anyone.
"Answer Daddy," he said.
"Yes, Daddy. I do," she grumbled.
"So, you're taking the next couple of days off so you can heal properly. You don't have to work through all this pain anymore. You can relax and heal while you still get paid."
She still didn't understand the concept of PTO and sick days.
"Do you trust Daddy?" he asked.
She nodded her head. "Yes."
"Can you trust Daddy on this? Give me two days to show you I'll take good care of you while you heal up."
Sofia thought about it for a second. Maybe this would show her what it was like to have a Daddy before she committed to anything long term. What if they didn't work out? What if they didn't mesh well together? She didn't want to start something without knowing how it was going to end or work.
"Okay," she hesitantly said.
"Thank you, Little one," he said, kissing her forehead. "Now, are you hungry?"
"Yes!" Her stomach chose the perfect moment to grumble. Her face went red, and she wrapped her arms around her stomach. "Shhh stomachy. Foods comings."
"We better feed the monster before it takes over the world."
She giggled and looked up at Daddy. "Tummy won't take over world. Only tummy."
He booped her nose. "It could take over the world if we don't feed it. It'll go around scourging for food, not caring if anyone gets hurt. We wouldn't want that, would we?"
Her eyes went wide as she stared at him. Was that true? She couldn't believe it, but Daddy said it so it had to be true.
"Really?" she asked in wonder.
"Oh yes," he replied. "It could be five minutes before your tummy decides to take over or it could be in a couple of seconds. We have to hurry and satisfy it before that happens."
Sofia opened her mouth, waiting for food. She didn't want her tummy to take over.
"Daddy! Foodie please," she said. "Needs foodies. Tummy no takes overs."
Daddy forked some of the French toast and fed it to her. Cinnamon and syrup bursted in her mouth and a little moan escaped. It was so delicious and she couldn't wait for the next bite.
That continued for several minutes until Sofia was so stuffed, she couldn't move.
"No mores Daddy. I is full," she whined as he held another bite up to her lips.
"Okay, Little one," he said. "No more food."
She relaxed in her chair. Thankfully, she was wearing shorts that were elastic, so her stomach got to breathe. She didn't know what she would do if she was wearing a pair of jeans. Unbutton them? Sofia had done that before, but never in front of anyone and it had been ages since she did that.
"Sofia," Daddy said.
She froze and looked up at him. He normally called her Little one or baby and only said her name when he had something serious to talk about or she was in trouble.
"Yes, Daddy?" she asked.
"I want to call Michael and ask him to come here to check you over," he said.
Sofia shook her head. She didn't need a doctor to come here. She was perfectly fine.
