“Monroe had introduced us. She was talking to her over video chat one time, and we were over at their house. She introduced us and then gave us her number because Hedda kept asking about us,” Leo said.

“Hedda is an interesting name.”

“She’s interesting,” Oliver said.

“We had talked about forming a dynamic and had already talked about safewords, hard limits, and everything. Then all of the sudden she just stopped responding to us about a month ago,” Leo said.

Nothing added up.

“She would never string us on. That didn’t seem like her nature. She seemed like she wanted something more in her life and we were prepared to give it to her,” Leo said. “She showed us her Middle. I don’t think she would’ve done that if she was just stringing us along.”

He had a point, but it was still weird.

“Do you know what happened?” Jaxson asked. “Have you asked her?”

They both nodded their heads.

“We did, but she didn’t respond. So, when we found out that she was staying with Monroe and Michael today, we asked Monroe what went on and why she wasn’t responding to us,” Leo said. “Monroe wouldn’t give much detail, but she said something really bad happened, and that Hedda was dealing with it.”

“So what are you going to do about it?” he asked.

They wanted his advice, but he felt like there was more to the story than what they were giving. He needed all of the information before he gave them any advice.

“Both of us have a gut feeling that we need to step in,” Oliver said. “Monroe is worried about her and we are too.”

Jaxson hadn’t seen either of them worried about someone so much. He could see it written all over their faces as they talkedabout Hedda. Jaxson had never met her, but he knew she must mean a lot to Oliver and Leo.

“And you want my advice on if you should intervene or not?” he asked, trying to get the whole picture.

“Yes,” Leo replied. “We want another opinion on this matter before we do anything. We don’t want to overstep and make things worse.”

They had a good point to a degree. It was probably great that they were wanting a second opinion in case they were in too deep and couldn’t see the whole picture. But at the same time, he felt like they knew best what she would need since they had talked for so long before.

“You guys knew each other for a while?” he asked.

“Yes, we got to know each other really well. Knew a lot about her and she knew a lot about us,” Leo replied.

“If you really think that you need to intervene, that it would be best forher, not for you guys, but for her, then I would go with it,” Jaxson said. “But I wouldn’t push her too hard. Trauma can be a difficult thing and you don’t know what she went through.”

“We understand,” Leo said. “And we thought the same thing.”

“Push her, but don’t push her too much. There’s a fine line and you need to know when that is. You don’t want to push her too far and make everything worse. Make sure she knows she can say her safeword if things get to be too much but make sure you guys have a discussion.”

They both nodded their heads.

“Not that you guys need the refresher, but be mindful,” Jaxson chuckled before he got serious again. “Make her feel safe and that she can trust you. I wouldn’t just go see her and ask all these questions. Gain her trust back and make her feel safe and maybe she’ll come to you or maybe one of you guys will have to prompt her but be gentle.”

“Gotcha,” Leo said.

“See how fragile she is before you do anything. Assess her and where she is at. None of us know. You could also ask Monroe and Michael about it and get their opinion since she's living with them.”

“Thank you,” Oliver said as he stood up.

“Good luck with Sofia,” Leo said. “If you need anything, and we mean anything, you let us know. We want to find the bastard who did that to her and make him pay for what he did.”

“Thanks, but she said she didn’t recognize the guy.”

“Find out where she lives and I’ll find security cameras. Or send it to Miles’ guy and he can get all the info you need,” Oliver said. “She may not recognize him, but he could’ve been watching her for a while. Need to be careful.”
