He was worried she wasn’t getting enough interaction with people on a deeper level than just taking their orders when she worked. He wanted her to be happy and lively but it seemed like she was always exhausted and down when she came to work. No matter how hard she tried to hide it, he could always see it.
Before Leo could respond, he started to talk again. “I’ve noticed her looking over at Charlotte, Janie, and the other Littles several times tonight with a longing look in her eyes. I want to get rid of that look. I want to help her.”
“You could always invite her to the playdate they have coming up. Those girls won’t mind if you invite her,” Leo said. “But the first question is, do you think she’s a Little?”
“I don’t know,” he sighed. “Sometimes I think she is and sometimes I don’t think she is. She knew what this club was for and seemed comfortable with it. So either she has a friend who is in the lifestyle or she is.”
“So why don’t you ask her? You won’t know until you do.”
That was very true. He just didn’t know how to approach it with her. Did he just ask and get it over with or did he try to gently talk through it?
“Well, I’m going to go see if anyone needs help over with the ropes,” Leo said. “Good luck!”
“Thanks,” he replied.
Jaxson looked over at Sofia and they made eye contact. She had been here for a couple of hours and he knew she was due for her break soon. He wondered if she was going to take it or if he was going to have to remind her, like last time.
He didn’t know how they did it over in Chile, but here at BTS, they took employee breaks very seriously. They didn’t wantanyone overworking themselves and made sure they ate and drank enough.
“Sofia,” he called out her name.
She hesitantly walked over to him, and he gave her a small smile.
“Yes?” she whispered. “Do you need anything else?”
“Yes, I do. Did you forget something?”
Her eyes went wide as she stared at him. He wondered what she was thinking about. Was she remembering that she needed to take her break?
“I-,” she started and looked off into the distance.
Did she not remember?
“Your break?” he said. “You’ve been here a couple of hours already and you need to take your break.”
He watched as she let out a breath of relief. Was she thinking she forgot to do something else? What could she have possibly forgotten?
“Right,” she whispered. “My break. I’ll take that.”
“I do have a question before you take your break,” he said.
Sofia stiffened in her spot, and he didn’t like that. He assumed she was thinking the worst thing right now, and he wanted to change that. She needed to start thinking positively and not think the worst is always going to happen.
He really wanted to figure out her thinking process, but that would have to come at a later date. Right now, he needed to focus on asking her if she was a Little.
He didn’t know if this was the right place or time to ask, but he needed to ask before she got sucked away into her break, and then back into work. Jaxson knew, once she came back from her break, he needed to leave so people didn’t get even more suspicious than they already were.
Maybe he could take her back into the employee lounge and ask her or he could take her to his office. But he shouldn’tbecause people would see them walking towards his office or the employee lounge.
If anything was to happen between them, he wanted to take it slow at first. He didn’t want her to be rushed into anything or people come up to her and ask several questions since he technically was her employer.
He could ask to see her after she worked when everything was closed. But he knew she would be tired at that point and ready to go home and sleep. There wasn’t a good enough time to ask and the playdate the girls had planned was coming up soon.
Jaxson needed to ask sooner than later in case she was a Little and wanted to come. He didn’t want to tell her and Sofia not have any time to think about it.
“Yes, sir?” she asked, briefly looking into his eyes.
He had decided he was just going to flat out ask her. He noticed she didn’t very much like questions and he didn’t want to beat around the bush.
