Myles' head dropped slightly. She continued. "I have a phone. Jasiah has a phone. I can be down here in fifteen minutes if something happens. I can still do my job. Mom and Dad lived off-site and still did their jobs."

Myles swallowed heavily. "Yeah."

His eyes lifted to hers. "Are you sure?"

"That I love him? Yes. We haven't talked about anything beyond that. I've just been thinking about it and what could possibly happen."

"I've only lived away from you in the military. We've always been together."

She chuckled. "Yeah. But, eventually you'll get married and I don't see us all living together. Do you?"

"Fuck no."

"Okay. You're my brother. My twin. We are connected in ways that no other person on earth can understand except another twin. That will never change."

"Yeah. I love you Maya and want you happy." He grinned. "I also want to be in the room when you tell Mom you want to live up on the mountain."

She shook her head. "I didn't say I wanted to. I may have to. And, believe me, I've been thinking about telling Mom. I'm not sure what the reaction will be."

"Like I said, I want to be in the room."

"We'll see." She stood. "I've got to see Tate. Wanna have lunch today?"

"Sure."

She leaned down and kissed the top of Myles' head. Turned and exited the kitchen with her coffee cup.

Tapping on Tate's door, he called out, "Come on in, Maya."

She grinned. He knew the sound of their footsteps.

She pushed the door open and stepped in.

Tate turned from his computers. "Please run down for me what happened at the morgue yesterday. Then, I need to speak to Jasiah. I have to report all of this to Rafe."

She chuckled. "It'll take a little bit to hear Rafe and not Casper."

"Believe me, it's taken me a bit to say Rafe and not Casper."

She told him what happened at the morgue and that Malibu Man had turned to shoot her when Jasiah shot him. Tate nodded, didn't take notes, but watched her closely. That's what he did. She'd learned not to be worried about that.

"Okay. I'll be calling Jasiah soon and asking him to come in."

"Sounds good."

She stood to leave and Tate asked, "It's none of my business as your boss, but as your friend, are you and Jasiah together?"

Her smile felt impossibly big. It was hard not to when she thought of Jasiah. "Yes. We're together."

Tate grinned. "Good for you. I've dealt with him over these past two years and he's a stand-up man."

"I think so too."

"Myles okay with it?"

"Yeah. He's good. We're good Tate."

He nodded. "That's good to hear."
