“Also, Jasiah doesn’t have a recording of any kind. Where do we look from here?”
“I’ll think on it a bit and speak with Rafe.”
She stepped from his office and headed toward Addy's room. Then she'd call her mom and see if they'd come down and meet Jasiah. It was surreal, all these new things and the getting to know the family. But, almost the instant she'd seen Jasiah kneeling in the woods, something in her just knew he was the man she'd waited for her whole life. It's like her soul told her he's the one.
Her phone rang before she reached Addy's door. Jasiah's name appeared on her screen. She'd need to get a picture of him.
"Hi." Her smile grew as she turned and headed toward her room.
"Hi. I just got a call from Tate. He wants to speak to me about the morgue. Is everything alright?"
"Yeah. He has a report to write up and he has to speak to each of us. That was his promise to the sheriff, who I guess was happy to not have to write up the report. Plus, Casp...Rafe needs it for his files."
"Okay. It's going to take me a bit, I have a few things to take care of up here first. Do you want to have lunch later?"
"I do. But, Myles already asked to have lunch with me. How about all three of us have lunch?"
"That sounds great. It's time I meet him in a casual manner I guess."
"That it is. See you in a while."

Jasiah pushed the button on the brick column at the gate. The building was beautiful on the outside. He remembered it from the days when it was a sewing factory. Though the wrought iron fence hadn't been here then. And over the years it had fallen to a bit of disrepair, but GHOST had made it beautiful. Probably more than it had ever been.
A buzzer sounded and the gates slid open. He moved forward and his phone rang. Maya's name appeared on his phone screen.
"Hey, there."
She giggled and it was cute. "Hi. Pull around to the back of the building. I have my garage door open and you can park behind the Jeep."
"Okay. See you in a minute."
He navigated the corner and saw her standing there. The sun shone on her hair, pulled up in her customary ponytail. She wore a long dark orange sweater and jeans today. She still had her tactical boots on, but then again, that was her.
Her smile was like coming home. It beamed at him and his heart beat a bit faster seeing her. He hoped this feeling would never go away.
He jumped from his truck and scooped her up in his arms the second she was close enough. He kissed her lips, her feet still dangling.
"It's good to see you again."
She giggled. "It's good to see you."
He set her down and she took his hand and led him through the garage. "So, this is the garage, obviously. But, we also have a workout room over there..." She pointed to the right. "And a shooting range over there." She pointed to the left.
"Indoor gun range? That's impressive."
"It's nice to have here. We practice at least three times a week. It's a job requirement."
"Perfectly understandable."
At the door he leaned forward to open it, but it swung open from inside. Myles stood in the doorway, his face unreadable. That's likely what made him a great operative.
"Hi, Jasiah. Welcome to the HOG."
"Thank you. What's the HOG?"
He lifted his hands in the air, "This. Home. Office. Garage. The HOG."
