"She gonna be an issue?" He quietly asked Reece.
"Zara or Maya?"
"Zara. Maya is mine. She's with me. If that bothers the people and they vote for Adam, then so be it."
Reece looked over his shoulder at Zara's cabin. "I don't think so. She doesn't have a happy life with Adam. She sees you and it reminds her all over again what she can't have. And, she sees how you look at Maya. You never looked at her that way. So, there's that."
Jasiah blew out a breath. "Okay."
"What are the cameras for?"
"They think someone is following me. It's for security."
Reece punched his shoulder gently. "I'll say this, if you're going to fall in love, do it with a security professional." Reece laughed at his own joke, then stood and walked away.
Jasiah, sat for a moment, watching Maya and Spencer work, then stood and turned to see Coup. He’d find out what help he needed. Then, he'd see Elle and finally, he'd call the mayor.

Maya finished spooling wire Spencer handed down to her. They'd worked together dozens of times over the years, just like this. It was mundane work to her, but this was important. Now that she had developed feelings for Jasiah, making sure he was safe was task number one.
Spencer climbed down the ladder and nodded. "All I need to do is set up everything in our system. Does Jasiah have a smart phone he wants me to set this up on? He'll be able to see things too."
"I'll ask him. How much time do you need to set up his phone should he want that?"
"Give me twenty minutes."
"I'll go check."
She dusted her hands then swiped them on her thighs as she made her way across the common area toward Jasiah's cabin. She knocked on the door, but he didn't answer.
She turned to see Jasiah coming toward her. His physique was a marvel to behold. Tall, strong, powerful. He had confidence. It showed in the way he walked among the people here. He was totally at home here and loved it. The residents seemed to admire him as well. They waved, smiled, and greeted him as he walked. A group of men were hoisting a large log to sit atop a wall being added to a cabin, and without hesitation, Jasiah stopped and helped them lift it up. His shoulders stretched his shirt and she got a thrill remembering her arms around them as he slid her onto his cock earlier. She'd repeat that over and over again. Goose bumps formed on her arms and an electric current slid through her body thinking about it.
Jasiah finished helping the men with the log and turned toward her once more. His smile grew as he neared and she resisted running to him. Oh, she wanted to throw herself onto his body and feel his power once again.
"Are you finished with the cameras?"
"We are. Spencer only needs to connect them to the GHOST computer system. And, he asked if you wanted it on your phone?"
"What? The cameras?"
"Yes. He can install an app and you can see the cameras and what's going on right on your phone."
"No kidding." He grinned then shrugged his shoulders. "Sure, that will be interesting."
She held out her hand. "Then I need your phone, and about twenty minutes to set it up."
He pulled his phone from his back pocket and held it out, but paused. "Hang on. I just need to make one call to the mayor first."
She chuckled. "You do that. I need to check the woods where Marni saw the senator. She believes she saw someone else but she's not sure. And, I'm not sure that's the truth, but Zara wasn't interested in letting her speak any longer, so I'll do my own investigating."
"Alone?"
"I'm fine. I'll let Spencer know what I'm doing and if I feel threatened, I'll put on a comm unit."
His brows rose.
"It's an earpiece I can wear and others on the team can hear me. If I need help, they'll be there soon."
