He stepped closer and pulled her close by her shoulders. He leaned down and kissed her lips softly.

"Please wear the comm unit."

She grinned. "Well, when you ask like that, how can I say no?"

He kissed her nose then her forehead and she inhaled his fabulous woodsy scent.

Stepping back, he whispered. "Find out what your schedule will be soon. I gotta make a call."

She giggled to herself. Then replied, "You know I'm more than a woman for you to slake your sex drive with."

He turned before stepping inside his cabin. "Oh, baby, I know that for a fact."

Gah! That hit in all her naughty places. She felt it through her entire body. And, she wanted him to call herbabyagain. She'd always thought it was cheesy, but when it came naturally like it just did from Jasiah...well, she wanted more of that too.

Taking a deep breath, she calmed herself as she strode across the common area toward Spencer's truck. He always had comm units and extra supplies. He stood at the back of his truck, a laptop open on his tailgate, and a smattering of supplies laying around him.

"Jasiah would like the app on his phone, he just needed to make a call."

"Okay."

"Do you have extra comm units back here?"

"Yeah. In that black toolbox up there." He pointed toward the back of the truck box.

She climbed up into the truck and squatted down as she located a comm unit and put everything neatly in place as Spencer had it. Opening the box, she turned the unit on, inserted the earpiece into her ear and jumped down to the ground. Spencer had continued to work on the cameras as she worked.

"I'm headed into the woods to see if I can figure out if Malibu Man is still hanging around."

Spencer glanced her way, "Did you need another kiss from lumberjack man first?"

The heat hit her cheeks, her chest, even her ears burned. "Shut up."

He laughed and she called Myles.

"Hey."

"I'm heading into the woods to see if I can find the place Malibu Man was hiding out. I have a comm unit on and want someone on the other end. Can you attach one please?"

"Sure. But maybe I should come up there. I'm not sure you should go in alone. Things are heating up. We just got word that the senator’s house was torched."

"Oh, boy. They know he's dead, but they didn't find documents."

"Right. Which means, they may have Malibu Man on a mission to kill anyone associated."

"Jasiah isn't associated with any of this."

"But he was in the woods and saw the murder."

"So did I."

"Right. Malibu Man may have seen you or not. He may now know there was more than one person in the woods. He could have seen you in his rearview mirror when you got his license plate."

"That doesn't seem plausible. He hasn't so much as followed me. I've been in public for him to target if he wanted to. But, the senator said the video was with someone making changes."

Myles took a deep breath and let it out slowly. She recognized his fight for control of his emotions.

"Look, Maya, we're stepping into the deep end of the pool right now. We all need to stay safe and do things smartly. Let me come up there with you. We'll search the area you want to search. We've done a sweep of the woods already, but since you saw him drive up the last road, we should do it again. But, let's do it smart. And, Jasiah is one making changes."
