Page 114 of Knot your Good Girl

“You wind me up on purpose because you love to watch me squirm?” There’s a small smirk on her face. “That makes you a brat.”

“I’m not a brat. I’m a good girl, remember?” I arch an eyebrow as she shrugs a shoulder. “I’m just wondering how far I can push you for the future.”

Future.

She’s saying the right words and getting playful, which is only a good sign with Holly.

“You can push me to the end of the world, baby girl.”

She considers my words for a moment. “Can I? Push you that far.”

“If you’re pushing, it means you’re with me. And I always want you with me.”

Her breath stutters as I reach out. My thumb and index finger hold her chin, tilting her face to look at me. “You need me, baby girl, and I need you as much as I need to breathe.” I hear the desperation in my voice. Something I’ve never heard before.

“You are unbelievable.” She lets out an exasperated sigh and there’s a small smile on her face.

“And so are you.” My heart flips when a warmth spreads across her cheeks. “I’ll give you the moon if you ask me to,” I say.

She sighs.

My smile grows. “Just don’t deny us.”

She stops staring into space and looks at me.

I take her cheeks in my palms. “You told me once that your alpha will know what you smell of and he won’t be able to stop himself from finding you. That was me you were talking about. I hunted you, I searched the country for you. I knew you were the one.”

Silence fills the air for a moment before she finally responds. “I know.”

I smile. “Wecanmake this work.”

She nods. “I know that too.”

Then what is she waiting for? She’s taking her precious time, considering she knows.

“I love you.” My heart flutters as I confess my love for her. “You don’t have to say it back, but I can’t go another minute without you knowing how I feel.”

“And if I want to.” Her words wrap around my heart and soothe away any negative feelings I’ve left.

I shake my head and grin at her. Still being so typically Holly. Not that I will ever change her.

I love this kind of love. It’s the kind I searched for my whole life.

After Daria, it could never beonlya scent match for me. It had to be more than that. And the moment I breathed in Holly’s scent, I knew I had to work out if my scent match would fall in love with me, not that I was expecting to fall in love with her.

But I did.

“Then tell me.” My fingers curl against my palms and I can’t contain the growl that’s been building up inside of me. She arches an eyebrow and I smile in return. “Holly...”

“Aiden...”

“Don’t make me turn into a raging alpha. I’m trying my best here.”

“Maybe I like your alpha.” She tilts her head to one side like a brat. “Or... maybe... I love your alpha.”

My breathing becomes ragged and my heart thumps as wildly as it did the day I bought the team because I was ready to get her and I knew she worked there. “You do?”

She doesn’t respond immediately and my lungs stall as the seconds tick by. It’s painful and slow as I wait for her to speak.
