We’ve had a few wasted months of not being together. But I’ll take the blame for that.
It was my need for revenge that caused us to miss out on those precious moments.
But never again. Holly is mine now and forever. She’ll never again be outside of my grasp.
I can’t ever let her go again. I committed her scent to my memory three years ago. A scent and taste I could never forget.
“I love you too.” Her voice wavers as she stares into my eyes.
“Say it again.” Wanting to hear it once more before I kiss the smile off her face.
“Aiden Ramsay, I love you.” Her lips curl upward at the edges as she nods. “It could only ever be you.”
I rush to pick her up, twirling her around to the sound of her laughter. When I stop, I slide her body down mine until our faces are in line. “I love you, Holly. I loved your scent since the day I inhaled it, but I fell in love withyou.”
With my arms still caging her against my body, I kiss her, slipping my tongue past her lips.
She kisses me back greedily.
I lower her to her feet and hold her cheeks in my hands, not wanting to let her go.
And I never will.
“Can I take you home?” I ask.
“To meet my parents?”
It wasn’t quite what I was thinking, but hell yes. “I need to meet my in-laws.”
She smiles.
“Do they know anything about me?” I ask and watch as she nods.
“I told them everything.”
“Including my age?”
“My parents aren’t bothered about that. My sister died and now all they want is for me to be happy.”
“I’ll make you happy.”
“How do you know?”
I take her hand and walk her to the bed, sitting her down as I fall on my knees in front of her.
“Aiden...” Her voice is barely a whisper.
“Holly. I’m on my knees once again and I’ll do this forever because I worship you.... I love you. Never have I felt this...” My hand rubs against my chest as her hand touches my cheek. “I’ve never felt this feeling before. I never knew it existed. But this thud I have behind my ribs is all because of you. You make my heart race and I know I tried to slow it down. Stop it, even. Please let me prove to you I will never stop it again. I’ll make you so happy.”
My fingers lock over hers that are still on my face before I reach into my pocket and pull out a small box, opening it up to show her the ring I thought she’d love. The thin platinum band is covered in diamonds all around and on the top sits a perfect ten-carat, cushion-cut diamond.
“It’s… it’s beautiful.” She reaches across and slides her finger over the ring.
“Will you marry me, Holly? Let me be your alpha. Be my omega, but more than anything... be my wife and make me the happiest man alive.”
She looks at me and sucks back a sob. “Yes... yes.”
We spent a few more days in Los Angeles. It was an opportunity to meet her parents, where her father made me promise to never hurt his daughter ever again.
