I hoped that Bianca would listen to the police officer and see sense. However, the way she was still pulling me towards the plane told me otherwise.
“Bianca, we have marksman posted everywhere. I can give the order now, and you will be dead. Don’t be silly.”
I was immediately pulled in front of Bianca and used as a shield. I felt my legs starting to give out under me as we reached halfway up the steps. Bianca pulled me back up and called out to Geoff.
“Get your arse down here and carry Abigail up the steps!”
I was shocked that Bianca had reverted to my real name, although I could understand why. She was probably as scared as I was. I heard Geoff run down the steps and grab hold of me before I collapsed on the floor. He went to go up the rest of the steps, but was stopped by Bianca.
“I’m going up first. You can follow. If they are going to shoot, you will get hit first, so they won’t risk it.”
We headed up the steps, and as soon as we were in the plane I was placed into the nearest seat. I saw the police heading towards the plane as Bianca desperately tried to close the door while Geoff started the plane and got it ready to take off. My head was spinning around as the dizziness started to take hold. All of a sudden there was a loud crash, and I heard a gun go off. That was the last thing I heard as the darkness took over and I fell unconscious for the second time that day.
