“This is a superpower,” Marius says breathlessly while looking at Dario in interest.

“I swear, I’m not using a gift or anything,” the boy says quietly.

“Must be the puppy eyes,” Finn muses. “Shoot, why don’t we have these, Mari?”

“Beats me! Dad never let me go to a wild party back in the day. Well, I went anyway.” Marius grins.

Finn chuckles. “He was completely spoiled by Liam,” he says. “Liam never asked for anything and always hated parties.”

“Then we came along,” Marius agrees with a grin. “And disillusioned him.”

Those two keep pestering Felix and Dario a bit more about this party… rave… whatever… and it doesn’t sound too wild to me. It sounds like Elden, as a parent, is a bit overprotective normally, even towards his sons, which is cute.

I think,I link Finn,Elden is just worried because Dario keeps to himself so much. That’s why he allows the twins to do so much. If he is with Felix, it means he gets out of his shell a bit.I pause. Was Dario always so introverted?

No,Finn mutters, clearly sounding worried now.I think you are right, though…

“I wonder what my gift will be,” Dario muses.

“I’m sure your gifts will come forward soon,” Marius reassures Dario. “Sometimes it takes a while to understand what we can do, especially when it’s a gift more on the mental side.”

“I hope so,” Dario admits.

“I’m sure you have an awesome gift,” Felix reassures him.

“Have you shifted yet?” I ask the boys. Finn has told me that for lycans of the royal lineage, there is no set time for when they shift, unlike werewolves, who shift at seventeen.

“I have,” Felix says, but doesn’t elaborate further, much to my surprise. Soon I’m aware of the reason, though, because Dario shakes his head.

“Not yet,” he admits.

“I’m sure it will happen soon,” Felix reassures him. “My lycan told me he can feel yours.”

“Really?”

“Yes, he said their bond works differently than for usual brothers.”

His words seem to have set Dario’s mind at ease a bit. Meanwhile, Marius and Celine skillfully shift the topic, and we soon talk about the plans we have for our packs and the future. Finn and I want to travel for a few days and visit our friends and the new base of the Council close to Silverlake Pack.

Sometimes when I close my eyes, I still think it is all a dream and that I’m still at Colton’s mercy, living my life in darkness. But it isn’t a dream.

This is my reality now.

Epilogue #5 Underwater II

*FREYA*

“It’shappening, everyone,”Ginacries out, her loud voice erupting through the silence. Soon the place is buzzing.

“Thank you,” I say to her sarcastically.

“Anything for our Luna,” Gina giggles. “Right, guys.”

One of the young warriors smiles at her. “Right,” he says warmly. We recently merged our pack with another small pack in the area. Their pack was in constant danger of being attacked by werebears and the weather. In the last attack, their alpha was killed, so we joined forces, and one of their elite warriors happened to be Gina’s mate. He is so sweet and patient with her.

During these last few months, Finn and I have done everything possible to get the pack running smoothly again. Fortunately, Colton—albeit a psychopath—was good at handling his finances and trading with resources. Finn got together with his siblings and parents, and they started a project to build and rent holiday cottages in this area.
