To help Felix motivate my lazy lycan counterpart, I jump into the water and shift to my siren form. I look at Max and taunt him a little while stretching seductively on a rock close to the shore.

Felix grins in my direction. It seems my approach works because Max is much more focused all of a sudden, especially since Celine’s wolf keeps distracting Cyrus from his antics. Eventually, I let Sereia come forward, and she shifts into her human-wolf hybrid form. I think she looks so beautiful. She climbs onto Max’s back, and he happily carries her over to the beach, daringly jumping through the water and even swimming a bit.

Later, we have a little barbecue at the beach, all in our human forms again. Celine and Marius have their fingers intertwined while I sit nestled against Finn’s chest. The twins, meanwhile, tell us about their daily lives. Dario doesn’t talk much, but Felix tries his best to include him in our conversation.

“And Felix,” Marius asks eventually, grinning. “Are you continuing the Finn-Marius family tradition and getting on Dad’s nerves?”

He scrunches his nose. “I can’t help it. School is so important to him, but it bores me so much. I’m just not good at it. Not smart enough,” he says.

“That’s not true,” Dario intervenes. “You are smart.”

“It doesn’t matter that I’m not.” Felix shrugs. “One in the family had to break the academic road.”

“You are aware that I dropped out of college, right?” Marius asks.

“Yes, but we all know you could study if you want to.”

“And you think you can’t?” Finn asks him.

Felix shrugs. “I’m not sure.” He smiles brightly at us. “But don’t worry. Dario tries to keep me out of trouble and helps me study. Also, if he asks for something, Dad gives us anything.”

“That’s not true,” Dario says with a shy smile.

“What’s your strategy?” Marius asks. “I would like to know because it never worked for me.”

“Same.” Finn grins.

“I just ask,” Dario says quietly.

“What? You say: Hi, Dad, there is a party three hours away with a neighboring pack you don’t know anything about. Can we go?” Marius laments. “And he just says…” He deepens his voice. “Yes, go and have fun.”

Dario and Felix exchange a gaze. “Kind of,” Dario admits.

Apparently this news truly left my mate and his older brother speechless because both of them stare at their twin brothers, Dario in particular. “Is this your gift?” Marius asks, surprised.

“Being convincing?” Dario asks and shakes his head. “I don’t know my gift yet.”

“What kind of party?” Finn asks, flabbergasted.

“A beach rave,” Felix says.

“Dad is letting you go to a fucking rave?” Marius asks in disbelief. “Heck, not even I would let you go!”

“It’s a small rave,” Felix says. Meanwhile, I try to understand what they are talking about. I have no idea what a rave is and why it’s so weird that Elden lets his twin boys go.

“Wait,” Finn says to Marius. “Maybe he doesn’t know? They hid it from him.”

“Must be,” Marius agrees.

“He knows.” Felix chuckles. “Dario told him.”

“Wow.” Finn breathes out.

“He does background checks and sends some guards with us,” Felix explains. “Also, he called the organizer, who happens to be the alpha of the pack. He is terrified of Dad. And it just so happens that the alpha’s son has a crush on Auri. So he invited her too.”

“Awesome,” Marius grumbles. “It gets better and better. I bet Aurelia is going?”

“Dad said he would feel more at ease with us being there if she joined the party, so Dario asked her, and she said yes.”
