I smack his chest. “Sex with you is never a chore.” I chastise him before peppering him with kisses. “You need to do the same. Tell me what you like when I touch you or blow you. I’m only just learning.”

“Same.” He smiles.

I feel warmth filling me. Finn waited for me to share his first sexual experiences. No one will ever have him the way I do. We’ll gradually learn everything together, and it makes me feel so special and loved. I’m still not feeling entirely confident in my body, but I’m slowly getting there. I brush my fingers through Finn’s pitch-black hair. He is always styling it in a spiky way which I love.

“I love your crazy hair,” I mutter.

“You do?” He smiles warmly. “I used to color it.”

“No way.” I beam. “What colors?”

“My best look was when I colored the ends in neon green. Dad hated it when I was a teen—he was all for the natural look, but he let me do my thing. And after years of me experimenting with my hair, he got used to it.”

“And your piercings and tattoos?” I ask curiously. “Were they also a rebellious act against your parents, like Marius said?”

He looks a bit flustered.

“What? You just said you dyed your hair to spite your father.” I giggle.

He sighs. “Alright, you got me. The tattoos weren’t so much of an issue, but the piercings…” he grins. “I did a couple just to get some attention, and to annoy my dad, but later I removed most of them and kept the ones I truly like.” He pauses to look at me. “Do you hate them?”

“No!” I say with emphasis. “I love how you look. The tattoos and piercings are part of you.” I trace his brow piercing with my fingertips. Laying here with him makes me wonder if I can mark him too. I need to ask Nen and Aenon about it. “Makes you even hotter.”

He chuckles, peppering me with kisses. “Good thing I have something to keep up with, my hot mermaid mate.”

“Half mermaid,” I point out. “And technically, a siren.”

“Still hot.”

After the events of the last few days, I can finally get a good night’s sleep. The knowledge of Colton being gone and the pack finally free helps me to relax. Finn’s scent is all around me, engulfing me, lulling me into the best sleep ever.

I wish we could stay in bed for the entire day, but unfortunately, that’s not possible yet. The moment the first rays of sunlight tickle our noses, I feel Finn stir next to me.

“We have to get up?” I mutter.

He kisses my temples softly. “You can stay in bed,” he whispers, his voice still hoarse from sleep.

No way am I going to let him deal with all the mess alone. Good thing I’m used to waking at ungodly hours, so I crawl out of bed and join Finn in the bathroom to freshen up and for a little quickie in the shower.

None of us brought clothes, but Ludovica provided us with some when we went to bed last night. So at least we don’t have to stroll around in dirty and bloodied clothes. When we join everyone at the dining hall, I’m surprised by how many people are here. There are faces I haven’t seen in a while, and I beam when I see Odette and Frankie waving at me excitedly. Some of the slaves are here too, finally able to eat with the others like actual pack members.

“Where is Anders?” I ask Finn curiously when he leads me toward a table that Elden is currently sitting at.

“Anders is patrolling the borders,” he explains. “He slept in one of the tents last night.” He nods towards Elden when we sit down. “Good morning, Dad.”

“Good morning,” he smiles at us. “You are up early.”

“Well, there is a lot to do,” Finn explains, taking some bread and pouring some coffee into two cups for us. “Where is everyone else?”

“Liam and Aurelia dealt with everyone they took to Silverlake and Red Claw. Flora went home, but will come back later today with Aurelia. The twins—both sets of them—were here briefly, got into an argument, and then started to tease each other. How did you manage to handle those four longer than a day?”

His last question makes me giggle. “It’s a gift,” I tell Elden before Finn can answer.

“That it is.” Elden smirks before he continues. “Marcel and the warriors from Moon Blood are still helping out too. And Elias already contacted Celine to tell her how everything went down.”

“He is not here, though,” Finn muses.

I tilt my head, smiling sadly. “He probably doesn’t have too many good memories,” I point out quietly. “I think yesterday I saw him talking to Arman and some warriors who stood by Arman’s side during the fight.”
