“No, really.” Finn chuckles. “Don’t be a stranger, Steve.” He turns to look at Ryllis. “And you, Amaryllis. You’re welcome to visit anytime.”
Finn and Steve exchange a gaze, making Ryllis and me eye them curiously. “We thought you might need this,” Steve says, rubbing the back of his head a bit before handing Ryllis a little bag. I receive the same from Finn, eyeing its content curiously.
“A phone?” I ask, surprised.
“You can always talk to each other that way,” Finn explains. “And I’m sure you both will have plenty of friends soon.”
Ryllis beams happily at Steve and jumps into his arms. I wrap my arms around my mate meanwhile and snuggle against him. Finn is a great man with many things going for him. I got the whole package. I honestly think there is no better man in the world.
For lunch, Steve and Ryllis decide to eat in the guest suite, while I finally decide to woman up and have Finn introduce me to the pack officially. Everyone knows he has found his mate already, there is no denying it, and frankly, I don’t want to. Time to put my claim on this hotness on two legs. When we approach the huge dining room where the pack members can have their lunch if they want to, I immediately notice once more how different this pack is to Blood Snow. There are so many pack members, males, females, children… everyone… chatting and laughing. I’ve never seen such a scene, and it makes me feel pissed off at Colton again for taking such normality from his regular pack members.
When Finn and I enter the room, everyone goes quiet. I almost want to turn on my heels and run, but Finn squeezes my hand reassuringly and leads me further into the room. Before I can even fathom what’s happening, there are suddenly cheers of congratulations; some pack warriors approach us to congratulate us in person. No one seems to judge me for being of low rank. Everyone seems to be happy for their prince.
I told you,Finn says smugly in my mind when some wolves ask me curious questions and congratulate me too.
“Got yourself a cute mate,” one warrior hollers towards Finn. “You lucky bastard.”
“You know what they say,” a she-wolf intervenes. “Good things happen to good people.”
“Then how come I haven’t found my mate yet?” The warrior grins. “By now, I should have found a hundred mates!”
She rolls her eyes. “Weeeellll…” she says. “I wonder why.”
Finn chuckles softly and pulls me along and away from their bickering. We make it to the table where the other high-ranking wolves are seated. Anders is there already, and Alpha Elden who is welcoming us with a smile.
“Hey, Dad,” Finn greets him.
“Good to see both of you here,” Elden says with a proud smile. “I hope you like it here, Freya?”
“I love it,” I beam.
A low rumble goes through his chest as he laughs.
Lunch is pleasant, and I’m glad Finn and I decided to join the pack for it. I want to make sure to belong to them, to be a part of them. The conversation at our table is light at first, but eventually, we have to shift it to more serious topics. “Finn, Freya,” Elden looks at us. “Tonight, Jace and his twins will return to the pack for a meeting with us. We’ll discuss the details of our attacks then.”
Finn nods earnestly. “What about Elodie and Elise?”
“Eric called me and told me they are on their way back to us,” Elden explains.
Joy fills me at the prospect of seeing the two pairs of twins again.
“Do we have the Council’s support?” Anders asks.
Elden nods. “They have our back and want us to act on the intel Finn gathered. We’ll plan the details today.”
I exchange a glance with Finn before I nod. “I’m ready.”

*STEVE*
Thankfully,MarcellefttheSUV for us and took a taxi back to Moon Blood. He returned to Moon Blood yesterday to talk to Alpha Celine and Lune Marius and to prepare for the upcoming battle. Freya and Ryllis say goodbye for now, both of them with tears in their eyes. They have been each other’s safety blanket for so long, that it has to be hard for them to let go.
“Make sure to text me once you arrive,” Freya tells her.
Ryllis nods.
