For today, though, I want to give Freya the chance to settle in and get to know parts of my family. I want her to be able to catch her breath before we continue our fight for her pack’s freedom.

The Omega-Luna and the Female Alpha

*FREYA*

AlphaEldenlookssointimidating at first glance. His height, his aura…everything about him screams alpha. Colton was scary, but seeing Elden, it’s evident now that Colton is all show. He's no true alpha, and I doubt he would face even the smallest chance against Elden.

Actually, watching the twins and Finn fight and interact proved to me how an alpha’s heir and a potential future alpha are supposed to act.

Despite putting on a brave face in front of my mate, I was honestly scared of meeting Finn’s parents, but they turned out to be such nice people. It shows that a powerful alpha can still be a good and respectful person. And Luna Flora is the sweetest person ever.

It makes me feel instantly welcome. Everything here is so different from Blood Snow. It’s not just the landscape. Blood Snow is an icy and cold region; it’s the whole atmosphere. The way the pack members interact, the polite and respectful way they treat the kitchen staff, and the omegas. The fact that they don’t have any slaves. I’ve seen Flora talk to some staff members, and none of them seem to be scared of her. Elden, too, talks to his pack members with respect. I even notice women among the warriors, joking and talking to the guys, and clearly trained to fight.

They don’t live in constant fear of being groped and harassed all the time. I didn’t know it was possible.

And it seems like Steve’s pack, Moon Blood, isn’t any different. They are led by a female alpha, something I still can’t believe exists.

Seeing Silverlake makes me realize how brainwashed we all grew up in Blood Snow. I hope I can bring this kind of reality to Blood Snow too, and it makes me set my mind even more on returning there and bringing justice to everyone.

After breakfast, we all bid Elodie and Elise goodbye for now. “It’s a pity you can’t stay longer,” Finn tells them while they hug everyone.

“We’ll be back soon,” Elise promises while one of the warriors puts their luggage into the car.

Elodie nods earnestly. “We need to return to Paris for now and talk to the Council. Prince Eric is waiting on us. It’ll only take a few days, and we’ll be back before you attack. I promise we’ll be there!”

“I wish we could attack immediately,” Steve mutters.

“I know,” Elise smiles warmly. “But Colton bought our little trick. And we need these few days to get the official help of the Council. This will be the last push they need to allow Prince Eric to set his plans in motion, and It will be so much easier then.”

“She’s right,” Elden agrees earnestly. “We’ll wait for your return, and, meanwhile, prepare for battle. A straight-on attack will endanger the pack. We’ll need to act smart.”

“We’ll try our best to lure Prince Eric away from his mate as fast as possible,” Elise giggles. “They are still in their honeymoon phase.”

Without me noticing it, Aurelia has joined our group. “Say hello to Val for me, will you?”

“Of course!” Elodie nods. “She is already looking forward to when you and your friends visit for Christmas.”

Elise looks at Amaryllis and me. “We’ll be back soon,” she promises once more. “And then Colton will get what he deserves.”

I return her smile, nodding firmly. Relief fills me. I never doubted Finn’s promise to me, but a small, insecure part of me was scared that maybe it was all a dream and that I’d wake up to the sad reality. Now I realize it wasn’t. Finn is set to free my previous pack members and get revenge for us, and his parents are eager to help too. So are Alpha Jace and Luna Janice.

It only strikes me now that not just one, but three strong packs are involved and are ready to go against Blood Snow. Finn explained that the original request to look into Colton came from Steve’s pack and their alpha. I don’t know the pack member who got away from Blood Snow by finding his mate, but I know the rumors about him, and I’m beyond thankful he decided to talk about the awful situation there.

Elodie and Elise get into the car, waving goodbye. It feels weird to see them leave. Although I haven’t known them for long, the tough trip through the cave brought us together.

“Okay.” Finn takes my hand and moves it to his lips, kissing my knuckles. “This evening, Dad wants to talk to both of us, so for now, we are free.” He smiles gently at me. “How about you and Ryllis go shopping to get a new wardrobe?”

Steve nods. “That’s a fantastic idea!” he exclaims, his surprise sounding fake. These two sly men probably planned this beforehand.

“I…I can wear secondhand clothes,” I point out. “I’m sure some of the maids here have stuff they don’t wear anymore and—”

“Yeah, right, no,” Finn says. “You deserve to have your own clothes.”

“But we have no money,” Ryllis says shyly.

“Oh, don’t worry about that,” Steve intervenes with a gentle smile. “I never spent much money on anything, and Mom and Dad are so happy that I found my mate; they explicitly told me you should get whatever you need.”
