“I-I-I.” Stuttering isn’t something that usually happens to me, but then again, neither is seeing my friends fucking at a kid’s party.

Harrison’s frown pinches his brows together. “Are you okay?”

I blink rapidly and then blurt, “I just saw Grayson fucking Nora in the cupboard. I’m traumatised.”

“Wait, what?” he replies before erupting in a bout of laughter. “They’re in there fucking?”

I nod, closing my eyes and seeing it again.Nope, don’t close your eyes.

“I’m never coming to a kid’s party again.”

My husband hugs me, and I feel my racing pulse even out. “I don’t think you’d usually find that at a kid's party, so future ones should be safe.”

“I need to bleach my brain and my eyeballs.”

He chuckles into my hair. “Orwecould find another cupboard.”

“No way.” I shudder. “Not at a kid’s party. My lady boner is gone.”

His big hands drift down to cup my arse as he pulls me flush to him. “Mmm, I need to stop right now because I’m about to kick them out of the cupboard and take you in there,” he growls with a fire in his eyes. I don’t doubt that he would, but I’m far too traumatised.

I open my mouth to respond when Nora appears, looking dishevelled and covered in red marks on her neck. She may as well be a sinner in church with the way her cheeks are colouring before us.

“I’m sorry about that. Grayson has some…” She clears her throat. “Urges at the moment.”

I tilt my head and hope to God the memory of his white arse fades soon. “Urges?” I ask, partly wishing I hadn’t asked.

“We’re…” She hesitates, blushing more. “Trying for a baby.”

I gasp and tap my friend on the head. There’s no way I’m touching her more than that right now. “Ohhhh, congratulations.”

Grayson appears behind her moments later, looking equally as dishevelled. “Wait, did it work already?” he says, looking bemused.

Nora slaps his chest. “Are you kidding me with that? We talked about this already.”

Harrison and I are a mess of shuddering shoulders as we try not to laugh.

“What are you all doing in here?” Liam says, breaking our little pow-wow up.

Nora flushes the darkest shade of crimson I’ve ever seen on her, and Grayson scratches the back of his neck.

“You two were fucking,” Liam declares, crossing his arms over his chest, glaring at Nora and Grayson and when his gaze lands on me and Harrison with a frown. “Were you all having a foursome?”

“Oh God, no!” Nora shrieks.

“Dude, it’s best you ask fewer questions at this point,” Harrison laughs, slapping Laim’s shoulder and directing him out of the kitchenette.

When we get into the large hall, everything, and I mean everything, is pink. The balloons, the streamers, the cake, the tablecloths. Even the bouncy castle is pink.

“Jeeeez, it looks like Barbie threw up in here,” Grayson mumbles as we walk through.

Luckily, there aren’t many kids here yet. We got here early to help with the set up, but Jess assures me it’s only the children she’s met through mum groups. I mean, how many can that be?

“Zozo!” My favourite little pink princess comes barrelling towards me with open arms, and I scoop her up, inhaling her warm, soft toddler smell.

“Hi beautiful girl, how’s the birthday going?” I say, pulling back to look at her face.

“Pink!” she yells far too loudly for someone so close to me.
