Rose squeezed her hand. “That’s all you need to do right now. I don’t have to tell you that in addition to being sore, your hormones are going to be all over the place. I think letting him take care of you is a great idea.”

“You do?”

“He seems like a good guy. I made Chad do a quick background search on him last night—everything appears to be on the up and up. Not even a traffic ticket. He owns a number of businesses and is involved with a few charities. There’s nothing on his social media that suggests he’s been seriously involved with anyone and based on all the pictures with him and his kids, he seems like a good dad. Plus, his house looks freaking amazing.”

That made her feel better. Still, she asked, “How do you know?”

“Google Maps.”

“Jesus, you sure you’re not in the CIA?”

Her friend shook her head. “I don’t have time for the CIA.”

“Well, thanks, but you didn’t have to go to all that trouble.”

“Gotta look out for my girl.”

“I appreciate it. Tell Chad thanks, too.”

“Oh, I already thanked him last night,” she replied with a wink. “He demanded payment in full for helping me.”

“And I’m sure you were happy to oblige.”

“Yes. I. Was.”

“You better watch it, or you’re going to find yourself pregnant again.”

“Nope. He took care of that a few months ago; we decided four was plenty.”

“I don’t know how you do it—four kids, a husband, and a successful career. You’re freaking wonder woman. I’m on the verge of an anxiety attack every time I think about trying to raise one kid and keep my job.”

“You better plan on keeping your job. I can’t do this alone.”

“Unless I win the lottery, you have nothing to worry about. Combining a career and motherhood will just take some getting used to. I’ll figure it out.”

Rose smiled at her. “I have no doubt you will. Having a great partner makes all the difference. You’ll see. Although, I’m curious about something he said. Are you seeing someone else?”

Maverick

“A fucking Rolls Royce? Are you kidding me?” Olivia groused after he got out of his Cullinan as she waited at the curb in her wheelchair holding Sawyer.

He was unapologetic as he took the baby from her while the nurse helped her to the car.

“I wanted an SUV, and I wanted the best. Problem solved.”

She pursed her lips, but didn’t say anything else as she got situated in the passenger seat while he strapped the newborn into the new car seat in the back.

He paused to stare at the perfect little boy he’d helped create, asleep without a care in the world. He was a dad again—how amazing was that? While the concept hadn’t even been in the realm of possibility when Maverick woke up yesterday, he was ready to turn his world upside down for this baby—and his mother.

Oliva was quiet the entire drive, until murmuring, “Wow, that’s a lot of cars,” when they pulled into his drive.

All three of his brothers’ cars, along with Nick’s truck, were in the loop out front.

“Those aren’t mine. Mine are in the garage. You’re about to be bombarded with Mitchell men. Sorry.”

Her smile was tired but bright. “Don’t be. I want to meet your family.”
