Not on my watch, I thought.
His hands were moving up and down my back, promising a round two was on the cards. I moaned into his mouth as he deepened the kiss and edged me toward the bed again. My pussy began to throb for him, wanting more.
“Sloane, are you in he-”
We both looked over to the door to see Amity standing there, shocked. It took her a moment before she exited without another word.
Killian and I both laughed.
“You should go,” he told me. “She may need you to restart her heart after that.”
I chuckled as I headed out the door to see what Amity had wanted. She was at the top of the staircase when I called out to her. When she turned around, I saw something in her eyes that looked like she’d been horrified.
“What’s up?”
“I was wondering where you were,” she said quickly. “I didn’t know you and Killian were-you know…doing that yet.”
“Tonight was the first time,” I said, rather proudly. “But I can guarantee you, it won’t be the last time if you know what I mean.”
“Okay,” she held her hand up. “I don’t think we need to talk about it.”
I was put off by her reaction. We’d never shied away from telling each other things in our lives. I guess, sex had never been a factor until now.
“I’m just going to go,” she said, as she started to head down the stairs. I was confused, as she headed to the door and outside.
Had seeing us together really upset her that much?
I couldn’t imagine why.
I wokeup from my memory dream and sat on the edge of the bed. Realization washed over me, almost to the point I was going to throw up.
She’d not been upset, she’d been jealous. Amity had never been shy about telling me about her sexual exploits either before or after that night, and yet, that was the night our friendship had become strained. It wasn’t long after that when we parted ways, becoming polar opposites of each other.
Had this been going on all this time?
Had she been obsessed with him?
If she had been married, why would she be so obsessed with Killian now? None of this made sense.
One thing I knew for sure, I needed to stop Killian from coming to save me. If he even knew I was missing.
God, I was so stupid.
He’d been looking after me, in the wrong way, but he’d been trying to protect me and I had just marched on out and tried to resume my life.
But I knew…I knew more than anything that there was no life without Killian in it. I’d been living in a fantasy world thinking he wouldn’t impact me again.
He’d always impacted me since that first meeting in school.
The door opened and Amity entered. I subconsciously backed up on the bed, waiting for her to attack me or do something to harm me in some way. Instead, I saw her hands move in front of her, a brown bag dangling from her fingertips. She threw the bag down on the end of the bed.
“I brought you food.”
“How do I know you didn’t poison it?” I asked her.
“Why would I?” she asked, annoyed. “If I wanted to kill you, I would have just shot you. I still need you for a reason. So eat.”
“I get it now,” I told her. “I get that you want Killian…but why? Why didn’t you say anything earlier?”
