“Good to know,” I said dryly as I propped my arm behind my head and leaned back against my short, wooden headboard.
He snorted but nodded and I waited, thinking he had something else to say, but instead he just stood there.
“Was there something else?”
“What? Oh. No. I’ll let you get back to…” Kit’s eyes dropped to my lap and I tried not to react as I felt my dick twitch again. He smirked. “Well, you know. Have fun. Or something.”
I rolled my eyes. “Goodbye, Kit.”
“Try not to moan too loudly, some of us have to actually study.”
I threw my pillow at him from behind my head and he laughed as it thumped against the closing door. I flopped back against the bed with a sigh. Try not to moan too loudly. Damn it. Now I felt weird finishing myself off, knowing that he knew what I was doing but not who I was thinking about.
A tingle spread through me as I dropped my hand to my dick, holding it idly as I considered. Or maybe… it was kind of hot.
My hand started to slowly move again and I bit back a groan. The problem was that this would only take the edge off. Kit was like an addiction I could never quite shake and wasn’t so sure I wanted to quit.
With him in my mind, I let my eyes fall closed and my body take me back into oblivion.
CHAPTER TWO
“Class on a Sunday should be illegal,” Bryn, Kit’s sister, groaned as I highlighted the transcript in front of me. I hummed noncommittally and kept my eyes on the work we’d been assigned.
Truthfully, I didn’t mind coming to class on the weekend. It was extra prep for the big exam we had coming up and while I was reasonably confident that I’d pass easily, I didn’t want to get too cocky. I couldn’t fail this exam. If I did, I wouldn’t be able to continue on with the course next year—it wasn’t something I’d ever really been concerned about. I was a good student. I was never late, I always went for extra credit on my assignments, I did far more than the expected level of background reading. And yet, now, at one of the most crucial points in my degree, I found myself more distracted than ever by blue hair and the richest laugh of anyone I’d ever met.
Of course, the fact that Kit had walked in on me thinking about him last night didn’t help with my lack of focus today either.
“Leo?” Bryn said and I jolted, looking up into a pair of blue eyes that were a disconcertingly similar shade to her brother’s. “I asked if I could look at your notes for the Jefferson case study.”
“Right. Yes. Of course.” I slid them over to her and pretended I didn’t see the slight narrowing of her eyes as she tucked a strand of long blonde hair behind her ear. I could feel her stare burning into the side of my face the longer I avoided her eyes, so finally I heaved a sign and looked at her. “What?”
Bryn’s lip twitched, fighting off a smile, and I realized I’d probably sounded too cold, so I tried for a smile while I waited for her to spit out whatever was bothering her. “You seem like your head is elsewhere today.”
I rolled my eyes and turned back to my notes as the hum of quiet chatter seemed to swell and our professor made the rounds. “My head is firmly attached to my shoulders, thanks.”
“You’re being pedantic.”
“You’re being annoying.”
Bryn laughed, the sound high and curling and I let a reluctant smile take over. Since she’d transferred to Sun City from California, Bryn had taken to me pretty quickly, almost like I was just another brother to her. “So what’s on your mind?”
I hesitated, my highlighter pen just a few scant inches from the paper in front of me. I decided I’d give her a half-truth, figuring she wouldn’t really want to hear about me lusting over her brother. “Just tired and thinking about last night—Kit and I did a favor for Ryan.”
“Oh?”
Bryn turned back to her textbook and I slid her my case study notes, complete with color-coded tabs, and she eyed it appreciatively as I winced. “Don’t mess up my system.” Her eyebrow raise spoke volumes and I shrugged, unrepentant. “It was actually a favor for Jamie, technically.”
“Ryan’s new girlfriend?”
“Yeah…”
“What was the favor?”
I opened my mouth and then shut it again. If I told her what we’d done, would that make her culpable too? Her blue eyes flashed when I took too long to answer and I relented. “We took photos of Aaron coked up out of his mind and then Kit and I showed them to coach this morning.”
Bryn choked on the water she’d sipped from her bottle and I pretended not to notice, turning back to my work. “I can’t decide if I’m alarmed or impressed.”
“Why not both?”
