“Why would I be mad at you, Kenzie? You didn’t do anything wrong.”

“But…”

I don’t get it.

“But?” Armani encourages. “You can tell me, Kenzie.”

I point to my left.

“Why is a stranger kissing me?”

From their looks of surprise, all eyes fall on the man with stormy blue eyes.

Something is most definitely wrong.

MY WORLD IS FADING FROM ME

~WYATT~

“Why is a stranger kissing me?”

My heart stops.

Literally stops beating for what feels like eons.

Stranger?

Stranger…

What does she mean by that?

I’m most certainly not a stranger, nor am I hallucinating this right now.

“Stranger?” Armani looks just as shocked as the rest of us. “Kenzie, baby. That’s Wyatt,” he emphasizes and waits for some lines of recognition to form on her face but she’s blankly staring back at him. “Wyatt Cyrus Jr., Kitten. You know him. You were dating for years, took a break, and most recently got back together.”

“Got back together?” Her voice is cold before she’s pouting those lips of hers. “But… we’re together.”

“Yes, Kenzie,” Armani’s voice is a bit softer as he moves to take her hand with his right hand while he reaches over with his left to gently stroke her head. I can tell he’s trying to keep her calm. “But you’re also with Wyatt.”

“Why?”

My heart feels like it’ll shatter.

“Why?” Armani repeats.

“Why would I be dating both of you?” She doesn’t understand it. Even tries to shake her head but Armani stops her.

“Kenzie, keep your head still.”

“Why would I date a stranger?” she questions.

“Sofiya?” We look at the older woman’s blue eyes which look extremely concerned. “You don’t remember, Wyatt?”

I’m surprised they’re sticking up for me when I only had a brief introduction with them. We immediately shared that we were both dating her, which didn’t seem shocking to either of them.

But now…

“He was your childhood friend, my dear.”
