“I hate him.” Her lower lip wobbled. “I want him…”
“What?” I whispered, coaxing the truth out of her.
Her blue eyes flashed fire. “I want him dead. I want this over, Ryan.”
I leaned in and kissed her slowly, loving the taste of vengeance and fury on her tongue as I teased it with my own. “I told you once that I’d give you the world. I’ll give you whatever you want, Madison.”
Understanding lit her eyes, and she wrapped her arms around my neck. “I love you, you know that, right?”
I hummed under my breath as I shifted to be on top of her. Her thighs naturally fell open to cradle my hips, fitting us together like we’d been created for each other. “Feel like reminding me?”
Things like fate and destiny had always seemed like a load of crap until I met this woman. Until I realized she was the other half that I’d been missing, the light to counter my darkness.
“I plan on reminding you for the rest of our lives,” she swore, the sweet promise banding around my heart like an ironclad vow that I intended to remind her of until I was dead.
CHAPTER 41
MADDIE
I wasn’t aware Ryan had left our bed until I felt him return to it hours later. Naked and sleepy, I rolled over and reached for him. “Where’d you go?” I yawned around my words.
With a warm chuckle, he pulled me to his chest, which was offensively covered by a shirt. He’d definitely been naked when he’d fucked me unconscious—I squinted at the clock across the room—four hours ago.
“Royal needed to see me,” he murmured, his lips whispering against my hair as his hand drifted down my hip and squeezed my ass.
I propped myself up on his chest. “Should I be worried that Royal can get you to leave me when I’m naked in our bed?”
His smile was a thing of terrifying beauty. “Absolutely not.” His adept fingers slid down the crack of my ass and stroked between my legs.
I considered clamping my legs shut, but honestly, who was I kidding? Wantonly, I spread them to give him more access.
He grunted in satisfaction as he easily slipped two fingers inside me while his thumb stroked my clit in a lazy way that was just enough to send shockwaves rippling across my body, but not enough to actually get me anywhere in a hurry.
“Ryan,” I whined, trying to grind against his fingers.
The jerk chuckled, the warm sound rumbling between us as he took his time exploring me like it was his right. Which, okay, it totally was. A right I’d given him over and over and planned to for the rest of our lives.
“Please,” I begged, needing more.
His lips found mine in a languid kiss that did nothing to ease the inferno between my thighs. His tongue stroked mine, sure and unhurried, as my nails scratched his chest. When I pulled my mouth away to suck on one of his flat nipples, he groaned and pushed his fingers deeper into me on reflex.
I smirked inwardly, pleased that I could make him crack. But my triumph was short lived when he rolled me onto my back and straddled my waist, then took both my wrists in one large hand and pinned them above my head.
“Cheater,” he murmured, leaning down to nip my bottom lip as his cock pressed hard and heavy against my stomach.
I writhed under him, tugging uselessly to free myself. Finally, I fell back with a huff and a glare. “Let me go.”
His head cocked. “Nah. Don’t think I will. I think I want to take my time, and you’re going to let me.”
I snorted. “That’s what you think, huh?” Brave words for a girl who was practically melting at the way his eyes were devouring me.
“Don’t move,” he whispered, his thumb sweeping along the inside of my wrist before he climbed off me and the bed.
I started to sit up. “Ry—”
He glared at me. “I said, don’t move, Madison.”
Okay, the growly way he ordered me around really shouldn’t have been as hot as it was, but I found myself exhaling and lying down. I reached back up and looped my fingers around the slats of the headboard, holding on because I didn’t trust myself not to accidentally reach between my legs and finish what he’d started.
