Tank lifted his own right hand, middle finger almost raised in a one finger salute. Thinking better of pissing off Zeus, he scratched the side of his nose.
Zeus let out a booming laugh that shook the nearby trees, sending wildlife that wasn’t supernatural scurrying away in fear.
Tank followed with Nita, Abe, and Link taking up posts behind him. It was no surprise to him or the others when several Ravens including Gray and Rafe were waiting for them. He hadn’t expected to see Dimitri and Vasilis, but the two males were protective of all females.
“Brock is bringing the new shifters to the training arena since there’s enough room and open seating that all the alphas won’t feel cornered,” Jaklyn said, sidling up to where Zeus and her guys were waiting.
Tank walked down the steps, a little surprised his wolf hadn’t alerted him that their home was being surrounded by all the males outside. ‘We are Lycan; they are not a threat.’ His wolf’s answer had him wanting to shake the beast.
“If you are all of accord, I’ll flash us to the arena and save about five minutes, but at least a half hour for your inner animals’ turmoil.” Zeus looked over at Tank as if he’d heard his animal talking.
After everyone gave their consent, they were swept away and reappeared across from Hurricane and his pack.
“That was very theatrical. Who’s the big blond Viking?” Hurricane asked. His right hand became a huge claw.
Thunder sounded above as lightning flashed. Zeus stepped between both groups, raising his hands. “There is no need for violence, yet. Let me introduce myself to you. My name is Zeus.”
No sooner had he spoken his name, which in truth, Tank was still in awe of the God who took on his larger form. Which meant he and his pack knew to move the fuck back. Zeus wouldn’t harm anyone who didn’t deserve it, but he sure as shit liked to make a spectacle.
‘I do not like to make a spectacle, pup. There are times that a demonstration is needed rather than a speech. This was one of those times,’ Zeus boomed into Tank’s mind.
‘Yeah, well, can you lower your damn inner voice. I think you broke my eardrums. Or is it minddrums?’ Tank shook his head, sticking his fingers in his ears. More than likely to the others he looked like he was having a seizure, but fucking-A his ears hurt like a bitch. Fucker.
“So you’re like the God of Thunder? I thought that was Thor?”
Abe slapped his leg. “That’s Marvel. Glad you’re not a DC fan. We couldn’t be friends if you were.”
“Oh fuck, stop. Do not start with that bullshit, or I’m seriously out. He’s Zeus, God of War, not Thunder. Period. He can also send a bolt of lightning straight to any of us, and we will no longer exist. As in, we would be burnt to a crisp, not coming back. He is the thunder and the lightning... boom.” Jaklyn moved next to Zeus, looking like a tiny puppy by his giant leg.
“There’s a band that sings a song with those lyrics, you know,” Honor said.
“Enough,” Zeus boomed.
He shifted back to a more normal sized male at over seven-foot, patting Jaklyn on the head. “Hello, Honor. It’s nice to see you and your family.”
Tank’s older-half-sister did a little wave toward Zeus, her eyes way too big like she was on the verge of shifting and running. Shit.
His father moved forward, taking his place as alpha. “Our pack has gone through a lot as you might’ve figured out by the presence of Zeus. The large males behind me are a mix of shifters and Ravens who are demi-Gods created by Zeus.”
“Your brothers aren’t too shocked to find out other beings reside here on Earth. Are you, Hurricane? How’re you doing, Honor?” Remi Mejia asked from the shadows.
The air thickened. Tank kept his eyes glued on his siblings, taking note of Hurricane’s shifting right leg and Honor’s quick little intake of breath. They know Remi.
