Xander and Ezekiel walk into the office, taking their seats and I get ready to brief them.

Time is running out and I can’t lose her.

I can’t lose any of them.

CHAPTER FORTY-SEVEN

AMORA

The hours slipped by too fast and we’re already back at the hotel.

I sigh as Titus leads me to the stairs that take us to the first-floor suites and I cling onto his hand a little longer.

“I miss you already.”

“I’m here Little Red, you won’t be by yourself with him anymore.” He reaches forward and tucks a loose strand of hair behind my ear. “Did he touch you… has he…” he pauses, and I know where he is going with this. I shake my head from side to side.

“Nothing.”

“Good.”

“But I have no idea if I can hold him off,” I whisper as we begin climbing the steps.

“It won’t get that far, I promise.”

“How can you be so sure?” I stop in the middle of the staircase and face him.

“Do you trust me?” his voice is low and I am hesitant. “Twilight,” his voice cracks.

“I don’t know who I trust anymore,” I roll my lips. Harsh, but it’s the truth.

“Just keep fighting him for me, I won’t let him near you.”

“You’re not with me all the time,” I shake my head.

“Then I’ll camp outside your room, I’ll be your shadow. I won’t let him near you.” He repeats his words and I swallow the thickness down.

I begin walking, slipping my hand from Titus’ as he follows and he slowly falls back into bodyguard mode, always with me, five steps behind.

The door to our suite opens and Wolfe stands there with a smile on his face. “Welcome back,” he wraps his arm round my shoulders as I pass him, and I can just imagine how Titus is feeling.

He leads me to the sofa, sitting me down then disappearing for a moment and returning with a bottle of water.

“Thanks…” I am a little confused, but I have come to realise you get two sides to Wolfe.

“I am sorry about earlier, I didn’t mean to hurt you,” he sits next to me, I stiffen as his fingers brush against the bruise.

“Don’t touch her,” Titus’ low voice booms round the room and I hear Wolfe scoff, looking over his shoulder.

“You’re dismissed,” he shoos Titus away and my eyes lock on Titus’.

“You can’t dismiss me, I work for Amora and Xavier, not for you.”

Letting my eyes fall to my lap I sigh when I hear Titus’ phone and a deep groan escapes him.

“I'll be ten minutes, do not fucking touch her,” Titus orders before lifting the phone to his ear.

I hear the door click and now it’s just me and Wolfe and my heart begins racing in my chest.
