“Do you think I am stupid little monster?” he asks, his hand grazing over the bare skin of my thigh and my skin pricks with fear as his fingers wrap round the top of my leg, gripping harder and pinching the skin.
“No, why,” I grab his wrist and try and pull his hand off me, but I can’t.
“I know you fucked him,” his tone is venomous.
“What?” I breathe, my eyes wide.
“You. Fucked. Him.” He says slowly and emphasises every word.
“No,” I shake my head from side to side.
“Tell me, why can he fuck you, but I can’t?” he squeezes tighter now and I can already feel my skin beginning to bruise. “Is it because you think I wouldn’t find out? I can smell it on you, I could hear you.” His lip curls and he snarls, “How about I fuck you now? Let me see if you have some magical pussy that I know nothing about because it seemed like he couldn’t quite get enough of you. Has this been going on between the both of you the whole time?” Tears prick my eyes, my throat burning and all I can do is shake my head again.
“So, when can I fuck you? How about tonight? Maybe I need to show you who you belong too because you have been mine from the moment you were dropped on my doorstep by your coward father. You are indebted to me. Me!” His voice grows louder, and I flinch. His hand moves higher up my thigh, squeezing the skin again and causing his grip to burn.
“If I catch you fucking him again, I’ll destroy everyone you care about, including your bodyguard,” he grits.
My body begins to tremble.
“Do. You. Understand?” He drawls out his words and I nod over and over. “Good. Now get out of my fucking sight,” he lets go of my leg abruptly before pushing me away.
It takes me a moment to catch my breath, but as soon as I do, I stand and Titus walks in the room, his eyes moving between me and Wolfe.
“Is everything okay?” Titus asks.
“Everything is fine,” Wolfe answers.
Titus’ icy glare narrows on Wolfe. “I wasn’t talking to you,” before he averts his gaze to me.
“Are you okay?”
I manage to nod, completely numb.
“I just want to go to bed, will you please come with me?”
“Of course,” Titus bows his head and I hear Wolfe scoff, but I ignore him.
Walking quickly, I walk into the bedroom and Titus is close behind me. The bedroom door closes softly and as soon as it has, I rush into his arms and let him envelope me in a tight embrace.
“I have no idea what I missed, but I’m not going anywhere,” he mumbles into the top of my head and places a soft kiss into my hair.
“Don’t ever leave me,” I whisper, burying my face into his chest and I feel him inhale sharply.
“I promise, Little Red.”
CHAPTER FORTY-EIGHT
AMORA
ONE MONTH LATER
It had been a month.
I have no idea why Wolfe is dragging this whole façade out. I’m surprised he hasn’t dragged me down the aisle by my hair.
A month of living with Titus five steps behind at all times. The odd finger brush whilst we were in the hallways, but I haven’t let Titus near me since the night in London. Wolfe’s threat was too loud for me to ignore. I couldn’t put my family in harms way, and I definitely couldn’t put Titus there either. He had a daughter and a life outside of this. No job was worth dying for.
Titus led me to the dinner table where I sat alone. Wolfe and Hunter were hardly here at the moment due to work and maybe that’s why this whole wedding is being delayed but I wasn’t privy to know anything. I was just the good fiancée who sat at home. I hadn’t painted in over a month and I missed it, but honestly, the weight of everything was too heavy on my shoulders for me to even let any creativity seep in.
