“What’s so funny?”

“I’m imagining if they did it when you were in the tub with me.”

“Yeah. Not funny,” he said. “And they are wound up. They heard the hairdryer and knew someone was here. I wanted to let you know. I’m going to go fill them in now.”

“They don’t know you are dating me?” she asked. Her head was tilted and there was a smile on her face.

At least she wasn’t annoyed over it.

“No. I haven’t had a chance to tell them. And you just told Heather last week.”

“I’m not mad or anything,” she said. “Don’t think that. The only person that knew was my mother and Poppy figured it out. You know that much.”

She’d told him that Poppy and Rose both knew but not until a few days ago. Now it wasn’t a secret from anyone in her inner circle.

It shouldn’t be in his either, but he wasn’t someone to just announce he was dating a woman either.

And it’s not like he talked to his sisters, because he didn’t. He only texted them a few times a week and not much at that.

“I’m going to go tell them now. You can come out when you want.”

He figured she might want to change or finish getting ready. Most women would.

Not Daisy. She surprised him.

“Can I come out with you now? Or am I too casual? They might think I spent the night with me wearing your shirt.”

She was finding a lot of humor in this. “They know you did with it being this early and the hairdryer running,” he said. “Be my guest if you want.”

“I do want,” she said.

She threaded their fingers together and they walked out. He found his sisters in the kitchen. “This is awesome,” Harmony said. “Is there any more?”

His sister was eating his last two pieces of leftover French toast he’d planned on warming up another day.

“That’s all there is,” he said.

“I can make more,” she said. “I’m Daisy. And you’re Harmony and you’re Erica.”

She’d pegged his sisters and he wasn’t sure how.

“You know our names and who is who and we didn’t know you existed. How come, Theo?” Harmony asked. She was narrowing her eyes at him as she stuffed her face.

“We haven’t been dating long,” Daisy said. “And your brother is very busy, as you both know. Me too. But we know quite a lot about each other’s lives. He said Harmony and I are a lot alike. I found it very sweet and he talks highly of you both. That is how I knew which one was which.”

“The smile on Harmony’s face and the frown on mine?” Erica asked, moving forward. “Which is gone now. Or will be by the time I leave here. We should leave since we didn’t tell Theo we were coming.”

“This house is yours too,” he said. Though maybe he should have told them so they didn’t surprise him like this.

“It’s not,” Erica said. “And inconsiderate of us. We are sorry.”

“I’m not sorry,” Harmony said, laughing.

“Are you hungry, Erica? I can make more breakfast,” Daisy asked.

His middle sister looked at their youngest filling her face. “I don’t want to put you out.”

“Please,” she said. “I’d love to. And then we can catch up with each other. Or more likely you have a lot of questions you want to ask me. Theo, I know you’ve got some work you want to do, right?”
