“I love her already,” Harmony said, her hips shifting back and forth in a little dance. “Yes, Theo. Get your laptop and do your work. You can listen in, but this is girl talk.”

He looked at Daisy and she winked at him. “If you’re sure?”

“I’ve got this,” she said, moving closer and giving him a kiss in front of his sisters. This was a far cry from the woman who was fighting with her roommate last weekend over her insecurities about their relationship and he couldn’t be more thrilled to witness it.

More Disciplined

The old “fake it till you make it” was coming out in full force.

There were equal parts of Daisy that were excited to meet Theo’s sisters and terrified at the same time.

But he talked openly about them and she knew they were fairly close so she didn’t think this would be a bad conversation.

“Is there anything I can help you with?” Erica asked. “I hate that we just showed up and now you are feeding me.”

“It’s fine,” she said. “How many pieces would you like?”

“Two is more than enough,” Erica said.

“Make two more,” Theo said. “Harmony ate my leftovers. I was going to have them on Monday.”

“That’s two days away,” Harmony said. “How could you have kept them in the house that long? These are way too good. Theo has always been much more disciplined than the rest of us.”

Harmony had already finished her first piece.

Daisy cracked more eggs in a bowl and added milk and cinnamon with a touch of vanilla and brown sugar.

“I was going to cook breakfast for Daisy tomorrow, that is how,” he said.

“Now you can cook for meandyour sisters,” she said.

“Yep, really love her already,” Erica said. “Tell us about yourself.”

“I need to shower,” Harmony said. “I look like a trainwreck and now I feel dirty after eating this. I mean it's so good it makes me feel sugary dirty.”

Daisy started to laugh. “My roommate says the same thing when I make them for her.”

“You mean I’m not the only one you’ve made these for?” Theo asked.

She turned and looked at him. “You don’t think I got this good at it by not sharing with other people, do you?”

“I suppose not,” he said.

“I can’t shower if you’re going to talk. I don’t want to miss anything,” Harmony whined. “Can you not talk until I come back down?”

“Don’t be ridiculous,” Erica said.

“I won’t say anything. I’ll just cook in the silence if you want to shower and put your things away.”

“Really?” Harmony asked. “You’re the best. Erica has patience for days. She can wait because she made me rush out the door. She owes me.”

She watched the two sisters eying each other. “Fine,” Erica said. “Finish fast and when the breakfast is done I want to know about Theo’s new girl.”

Harmony shoved the last bite in her mouth. Her cheeks were puffed out and the two sisters ran to get their bags and go upstairs.

Daisy turned to him. “I’m just going to make the rest of the loaf. They might want more.”
