"I'm sure." He pulled Lexi into a big hug. "Thank you for this," he said, holding up the bag.
"Of course, do you need anything else before I go?" There was a soft knock at the door. A young man in scrubs walked in. "Transport," he said. "Let's get you into a more comfortable room." He wheeled in a transport bed to get Poppy onto.
"No, we're good. Hopefully we can get some sleep in our room. Thanks Lexi," he said, pulling her back in for another quick hug.
"Of course. Call me first thing in the morning."
Lexi and Liam made their way out of the room into the sterile hospital hallway. She stopped and took a deep breath and looked into Liam's eyes for the first time. She looked like she was exhausted and had been crying.
"I have a car here. Why don't we let it take us back to your house? We’ll get you back here tomorrow to get your car."
She nodded. "Yeah, that sounds good."
Once they were in the car headed back to Mystic Falls, her head hit his shoulder and she was out. He pulled his phone out, it was almost two. It had been a long day that definitely hadn't turned out the way he thought it would. But right now, he was going to get her home and settled. Then tomorrow he would talk to her about Jacinda to see if anything needed to be smoothed over. But for right now he was happy to have her close again. Depending on what she wanted, he was hoping they could be close all the time.
Chapter30
Lexi
Lexi stretched in bed. The sun was coming in through the cracks in her blinds. She was still trying to put together the pieces of yesterday as she woke up. Remembering Josh and Poppy were still in the hospital, she bolted up to check her phone. It was only eight and everything was okay. She didn't have any messages either, no news was good news on that front.
"Is everything alright?" Liam said, his voice still rough with sleep. His hand rubbed her back.
"Yeah. I just got scared that I slept through Josh trying to call, but we're good."
Liam snuggled her as she laid back down, holding her close to his chest. And she happily let him, happy to be here with him.
"It means a lot to me that you came last night."
He stroked her arm and pressed a kiss to her temple. "Of course, gorgeous. I came as soon as I got your message."
"I'm sorry I missed your concert. I got the text from my brother right after the opening act. I didn't even get to see you." She turned in his arms with a pout on her lips.
"Don't worry about that," he said as he kissed her forehead. "There’ll be other concerts." He got situated with her head resting on his chest. "I was worried about you last night. I'm glad they’re both okay."
"Me too," she said, tracing the tattoo on his chest. "Thank you for coming."
"I would do anything for you, Alexis Turner. I love you."
Her head picked up quickly from her chest "What?"
"I love you," he said plainly, as if it were nothing at all.
Her heart pounded in her chest. Sometimes she still couldn't believe it. After everything she had gone through, she would never have believed she was here, in love with a superstar.
"I love you too," she answered back.
Then that grin found his face, the grin that lit up arenas, but right now, was just for her. He rolled her onto her back and settled between her legs.
"Say it again!"
"I love you, Liam Sheffield." She barely had enough time to get out the last word before his mouth came crashing down on hers. God, she loved kissing him. She could kiss him forever, and she just might. Liam started to kiss down her neck and thank fuck, she was ready for this. She had missed him in the week they were apart. Yes, she was now well acquainted with sex via FaceTime, but nothing beat in person.
"Is this okay?" he asked. The words were said between reverent kisses on her neck. "It's alright if you're not in the mood."
"I’m very much in the mood," she said, as she fisted her hand in his hair, pressing him closer. He let out an approving growl and nipped at her neck. She could already feel her desire pooling deep inside of her. She needed him, needed this. His hands began to explore her body more urgently, helping her out of her pajamas. He kissed her again, his tongue dancing with hers as his hands found her breast. There would be time for lazy morning sex like they'd had in his penthouse, but they didn’t have that kind of patience today.
"Please Liam, I need you." Her hands found the waistband of his boxers and she pushed at them. He slid them off and nestled himself right between her legs. Sliding a hand between them he slipped his fingers into her folds. His forehead dropped to hers and he groaned.
