And now I'm in need of a new set of panties. Damn.
"I take it no one told you that there might be guys from season one on your season?" Reginald laughs at the starstruck look on my face.
"No. I'm sure that I would remember it if they had. Though, it makes sense. I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner." I laugh, the sound only slightly self-deprecating.
Reginald wrinkles his nose up in the most adorable way. “I’ll take it from that interaction that you don’t mind.”
"Honestly?" I shake my head. "No. Sure, they might have vied for a spot in Bree's pack, but obviously it didn't work out for some reason or another. We all have pasts and exes—theirs were just on the television for everyone to see. At least I know some of what I'll be getting from them."
"That's true," Reginald nods. "Well, what I can promise you is a season full of surprises, and this is just the first of many."
I almost feel like it's a threat or a warning, but I'm not sure how. I don't get much time to think about it as the next limo pulls into the drive, coming to a stop in front of me once more.
When the man inside steps out, I once again find my jaw practically on the floor. I didn't realize there would be celebrities on my season—especially not one of my favorite actors.
Quinn Nichols is Hollywood's best villain, though apparently not in real life—which, I hope not because I don't need a villain in my life. I know from my own obsession that he's six foot two, fit, an alpha, and apparently one of the nicest people you'll meet. Or so fans have said. He's gorgeous, with dark brown hair interwoven with caramel highlights. I don't know if they're natural or if he visits a salon, but it's a damn good look on him. He's the absolute definition of smoldering good looks with the hint of facial hair and deep brown eyes staring back at me.
"H-h-hi," I stutter, ending on a squeak while standing there and gawking at him. And I thought I was fangirling over Brody, but that was nothing compared to the mess I am right now.
He smiles, and it's just like in the movies. Yup, the slick is flowing now. I want to clench my thighs together not only for the friction but to make sure the panties are doing their job and keeping it contained. The last thing I need right now is for slick to be running down my leg on national television. I'd never be able to show my face again in public.
"I'm going to go out on a limb and say you recognize me," Quinn says as I get the first whiff of his scent. It's a tantalizing combination of sage, talc, and surprisingly, lemon-lime. It invades my senses, and though I never would've thought that those scents would pair well together, it smells amazing. He smells amazing.
Realizing he asked me a question, I sigh. "Yes. Busted? I guess? Honestly, I'd have to be living in a cave to not know who you are. But the honest truth is that I'm a huge fan."
He shrugs as if it's no big deal, but I also don't miss the wince that's there and gone in a second. "It's always nice to meet a fan."
“Yeah, but that’s not why we’re here, is it? You didn’t come to meet a fan, you came to meet a potential omega.” I’ve already come to the conclusion that he doesn’t want a fangirl for an omega. I’ll just need to be sure that I treat him like any of the other suitors. So what if I’ve lusted after him while watching his movies or that I’ve watched all of them at least a dozen times? Celebrities are people just like the rest of us, except they live their lives in the spotlight.
"Hi, I'm Sophia Durham, and I'm the omega for this season," I say as I extend my hand. "And you are?"
The smile that lights up his face and the laughter in his eyes makes me want to melt, but I hold it together when he shakes my hand. "Quinn Nichols. It's lovely to make your acquaintance."
I giggle at his choice of words. "I don't think anyone has ever said that to me before."
"What can I say? I like to stand out." He winks, and it just makes my smile grow wider. I love that he's playing along with this little game I've started. I just want to make sure he's comfortable, and this was the best way I could think of.
"Well, not to worry. You've definitely done that. Why don't you tell me a little about yourself?"
"Sure. I'm an alpha, unmated, and I just turned twenty-nine. I'm an actor—"
"An actor?" I fake a gasp, lifting my hands to my lips. "Have you been in anything I'd recognize?"
He shakes his head. "Unlikely. Just a few small parts here and there."
Lies. All lies.
"As long as you're doing what you love, that's all that matters, right?"
"Absolutely. I love surfing, hiking, and pretty much anything that lets me get outside. I'm an only child to two alpha parents, who I adore and are very supportive of me choosing to be an actor."
That makes my smile soften. "It's nice when you have a family that supports you."
"It really, really is."
I see Reginald signaling to wrap it up before returning my attention to Quinn. "It's been lovely meeting you, Quinn. I look forward to getting to know you better in the coming days."
Quinn takes my hand, brushing his lips against the palm of my hand—something that shouldn't be erotic, but holy hell, it sets my body alight. "The pleasure is all mine. And thank you."
