Colbie took another drink of her wine. “Believe it because he did. I was so pissed because all I wanted was to enjoy some delicious food in peace, and there his ass was. To top it off, Dallis walked in and thought it was a date.” She took another drink.
“Hold up. He showed up at the restaurant while Will was there?”
“Yes, he’d been walking by with two friends and came in. He was far from happy about the scene in front of him and was pissed that Will followed me to the restaurant. He wanted to beat his ass the next morning when I told him.”
“You should have let him.”
“Lawrence,” Colbie admonished.
“What? It isn’t as if he doesn’t deserve it.” Lawrence took a drink of his wine. “Wait, why’d you wait to tell him Will followed you?”
“I was…preoccupied when I made it home that night.”
Lawrence smirked at her. “Oh, he blew your back out for that shit.”
Colbie didn’t respond as she took another drink of her wine. She wouldn’t deny it because she would be lying, he had blown her back out, and she’d enjoyed every minute of it. However, she knew she didn’t need to confirm it for Lawrence because her silence would say enough.
“Tell me everything.”
“I am not going to do that.”
“Fine, at least tell me if it was good.”
“It was incredible. Honestly the best sex I’ve ever had. But enough about me,” Colbie stated, deciding to steer the conversation’s focus away from herself. “What about you?”
“What about me?” Lawrence inquired.
“Have you blown anyone’s back out, or had yours blown out recently?”
“A few months ago to the first one, and not in a long while to the second one. Which is kind of tragic when I think about it.”
Colbie couldn’t help but laugh. “You’re too much of a control freak to actually think not bottoming is tragic.”
“Yes,” Lawrence agreed. “But, I’m a wonderful power bottom, which keeps me in control. I just don’t do it often.”
The conversation shifted to what they had planned for the Christmas holiday. Colbie planned on spending it at home. She visited her mother for Thanksgiving to be able to have that holiday to herself. Christmas at her mother’s was always stressful because her mother believed events needed to take place over the course of four days. Lawrence would spend Christmas with his mother the way he did most years. She wasn’t surprised that he wasn’t spending any holidays with his father.
Their relationship was almost built on the military don’t ask, don’t tell saying. Though his father knew he was gay, he liked to pretend Lawrence’s sexual preference didn’t exist altogether.
When their food arrived, Colbie answered the door and tipped the driver. She grabbed the bottle of wine she’d opened and carried it all to the living room, placing it on the coffee table. They’d been eating for a few minutes when her phone rang. She glanced at the screen and saw Dallis’ name flash across it. She’d completely forgotten that he’d planned on coming by that weekend when she returned from her mother’s. Colbie was sure he was calling to see if it was a good time since she hadn’t gotten in yesterday until late in the evening.
“Aren’t you going to answer it?” Lawrence asked.
“He probably wants to know if he can come over.”
“So answer it and invite him over.” Colbie raised a brow at him. “Come on. I know keeping him a secret from everyone is draining, and it can be hard on a relationship. So, this might make you feel less stressed. Besides, you know I’m not going to tell anyone.”
“You just want to meet him,” Colbie countered.
“There’s also that.”
Picking up her phone, Colbie answered it, bringing it to her ear. “Hey,” she greeted.
“Hey, beautiful. Did I catch you at a bad time?”
“No, I’m just having lunch with a friend.”
“Ah, then I won’t bother you. I was going to stop by, but I can see you tomorrow.”
