“Yes.”
He snorted. “Clark.”
“Yeah. Is that a problem?”
“No. Charming bastard.”
She sighed and closed her legs slowly, easing the skirt over her knees. “He isn’t weird or cruel?”
“No. He’s kind and honest. Why?”
She eased away from him. “I sort of promised him a heat in exchange for the healing.”
Kasim looked at her. “Fucking hell. I am going to beat the fur off him.”
She blinked. “Why? Was that a bad idea? I mean, after I stop the suppressors, the heat is going to hit fast. I am going to need someone there.”
Kasim looked at her. “Did you promise him exclusivity?”
“No.”
“As we progress, I would like to introduce you to one more of our kind.” He smiled. “He wears his hair short. And I am sure he would like details on that stripper who started this situation.”
She paused and then said, “He has long red hair to his waist, tattoos across his chest and biceps, and a tiny red heart below his navel.”
Kasim nodded. “I will tell the third, and he will locate the fool. Once we complete your healing, we will take care of him. He gives redheads a bad name.”
Ula sighed. “Okay. I should be getting home. Oh, do you need my number to contact me for more, um, treatments?”
“You don’t want to contact me?”
“Um, your availability is the priority. I can move things around fairly easily, especially after Friday.”
A new voice said, “Good to know. I was running late, and I am guessing you didn’t get my message.”
She coloured. “Hello, Clark. Do you know Kasim? He was the second healer that Delun Hall contacted. I just learned about him today.”
Kasim chuckled. “She sounds like you caught her cheating. She really doesn’t get out much.”
She looked down and then back up. “This is weird. It’s like a dating app where I don’t pick anyone, but people go down on me in rotation.”
Kasim chuckled, and Clark snorted. He tapped Kasim on the shoulder. “Can I see how far you got?”
Kasim nodded and stepped aside. Clark looked at her and raised his brows. “Waiting on you, darling.”
She sighed and pulled her skirt up again. Clark nodded and leaned down to go over the areas Kasim had started on. The slow stroke of his tongue became pleasurable, and she made small sounds as he continued. She felt a small rivulet of liquid easing out of her, and Clark stopped and laughed. “You did a great job on the nerves.”
Ula squirmed. “I think the point has been made.”
Clark winked and dragged his tongue to catch the small flow. His eyes darkened, pupils dilated, and she watched his expression change into something hungry.
Her phone alerted, and she looked away from Clark to pull out her phone and see that she was fired. “And there it is.”
Kasim cocked his head. “There is what?”
“I got fired for running an escort service out of the front of the community centre.” She squinted at the email. “That is the gist of it.”
Clark stroked her thigh. “Are you upset?”
