She stopped a few feet away from him. “Hello.”

His clearly cut lips curved in a smile. “Hello, pretty.”

Her face blushed fast, and he laughed.

“So, Harmon’s uncle asked you to come?”

“Delun Hall? Yes. I hear you have been damaged.”

“Yes. Extensive burn scars covering my entire sex. The skin is parchment-thin, and nerves are at the surface. You are the second... specialist that Delun has contacted. The other one said that it would take weeks and weeks to complete the healing.”

He took off his sunglasses and looked at her with bright gold eyes. “I have a rival? Interesting. So, he has already seen the damage?”

“Yeah.”

“May I?”

“Oh. Right. That is why you are here.”

“Back seat of my car?”

“Sure.”

He opened the door and helped her up and into the back seat. He asked questions about the damage and how it had occurred, and he was furious when he found out how young an omega she had been. By the time her skirt was up around her hips and he was examining her, she was beyond embarrassed. His tongue stroked along the inside of her thigh and across the top of the damage.

She shivered and realized that she hadn’t asked his name. “Uh, what is your name?”

He chuckled. “I am glad you decided to ask. Kasim. And you are?”

“Ula.”

His tongue stroked softly. “Well, Ula, you respond very well to this healing.”

She shivered. “Are you healing, or are you playing now? It feels like playing.”

He chuckled. “A bit of both. Your scent is coming in.”

“No. It can’t. The glands that do scent and sweat aren’t intact.”

“Pet, I am very good at what I do.” He chuckled and turned his head, nipping at her inner thigh. “This is enough for the first day.”

“Okay.” She sat up and started to cover up.

He put his hands on hers. “Not quite yet. I am crafting a strategy and enjoying imaging the view. You don’t wear underwear?”

“Can’t. The friction tears the skin. Wearing bandages over it is messy when it comes to personal hygiene.” She tried not to look at the rapt expression on his face.

She shivered, and he looked up. When his gaze collided with hers, she opened her eyes wide and quivered.

He murmured, “There’s the bunny.”

She snapped with irritation. “Oh, for fuck’s sake.”

He laughed. “I am a fox.”

“Is that what the colouring is?”

“Yes, and the other healer had it as well?”
