Giovanni snorted before he took the first bite, and then his eyes went wide. “You made this?”

“Yeah. Ula was at work, so I cooked.” She sat back and curled her legs up on the couch. The cheesecake was a respectable specimen. “It was good because she had two of her mates over for dinner, and I got all the information on them I needed to run a background check.” She smirked.

Richard was looking at his plate with distress on his features. “Is there more?”

“Kitchen. Help yourself.”

He laughed.

“Once you have eaten here, my manners go out the window.” She finished the dessert and set the empty plate on the table. “Love to cook, hate doing dishes.”

Giovanni beckoned to her. “Come here, Merry.” He set his plate down, and she walked over to him. It was fun to play with him. She had the funny feeling he would not disappoint.

She stood next to him, and he eased her onto his lap. He cuddled her against him and murmured in her ear, “Do you know how hot it was to have an angel pacing toward us?”

“Judging by the boner in your trousers, I am guessing you have a thing for black feathers. Thomas and Richard must be exhausted.” She smiled and batted her lashes.

He sighed. “You seem to have an affection for taunting me.”

“Oh, not just you. I promise to taunt Richard and Thomas, too.” She looked at the other two who were eating more cheesecake.

Richard grinned. Thomas smirked.

Giovanni smiled and leaned toward her. The kiss was polite for a count of three, and then his hand was on her neck and there was a growl making its way into her belly. She got wet in seconds, and heat ripped through her. She gasped, whined, and clutched at him. His tongue was rough, and she was thinking about what it would feel like elsewhere. Elsewhere was currently hot and slick.

His tongue stroked hers, teased her teeth, and took up a slow thrust that kicked her into high gear, and her whines got insistent. Her dignity was injured, so she threw it out. She squirmed against him and turned until she was straddling him.

He paused and smiled against her mouth. He slid one hand between her thighs, leaned back and brought his fingers to his lips. His eyes darkened and then widened. “Pet, how close is your heat?”

She sighed as the mood was broken. “Next Monday.”

He stared at her. “That isn’t much time.”

“Well, if you three hadn’t been at the club tonight, it wouldn’t have been an issue. I would have gone through it solo and met you... eventually.” She straightened and pushed against the guiding hand.

Giovanni stared at her, not speaking. She looked at Richard. “I think I broke him. Is there a reboot switch I should know about? I mean, I can guess, but that might redirect his attention dramatically.”

Richard shook his head and held out his hand. She got out of Giovanni’s lap with effort and settled against Richard. “So, why is he pissed?”

“Omegas shouldn’t go through heats alone. It isn’t healthy.”

“It is torture, but I couldn’t seek you guys out until Ula was set. Now that she is...” She drew a finger down Richard’s cheek. “Hello, nurse.”

He chuckled, and their kiss led to Thomas shifting her over to do the same. He was licking at his fingers and asked, “Are you sure that we have until Monday?”

She shivered while leaning against him. “I am just guessing. It never shows up when I think it will.”

Giovanni was working on his phone and lifted his head when she spoke. He softly said, “For the weekend, we will move to my house.”

She grimaced. “Fine, but if any of you cost me my security clearance, I will be pissed.”

“I gather that, so I am removing any questionable projects from my portfolio.”

“I could tell you which ones would be problematic.”

“No, I will guess. Richard can confirm that you need plausible deniability.” His lips quirked. “So, what drove you to get the tattoos.”

“I found out about them after she had gotten them done. It wasn’t my idea. I guess she was counting on you three being stupid.”
