Thomas’s fingers dug into her right buttock. “I hope you will learn to trust and respect us, Merry.”
She looked down at his hand. “If that bruises, you are going to have to kiss it better.”
He chuckled and patted her butt. “I agree.”
Richard grinned, and Giovanni chuckled. Her primary alpha lifted his head. “Your friend has returned.”
She tried to get off Thomas, but he had a startlingly good grip. She balked and looked down at him. “Let me go. Aside from being punched in the face, I don’t generally like to make a scene on my first day meeting someone.”
Giovanni looked at her. “Ah, you don’t want to look compromised in front of Ula’s new mates. You are family representation.”
Thomas chuckled. “Ah.” He let her get to her feet and finished licking his fingers.
She straightened her robe, collected the plates and forks, and went to wash dishes.
Chapter Five
Ula entered the living room with her alphas and saw Merry. She gasped. “What the hell did you do to her?”
The big one looked at her with raised brows. “I beg your pardon?”
Ula ran to Merry. “What did you do to her? She hates doing dishes.”
Merry looked at her and started to laugh. “I was just trying not to be welded to one of them while you came in.”
Ula looked at her friend and went, “Oh.”
“Omegas near heat can set each other off, and you are in no shape for that.”
“Right. Wait. Are you near heat again? I can get the boathouse ready for you.” Ula was eager to help.
Giovanni looked at her. “We will be taking your friend to a house with a nest. Walter, are you good to take care of Ula until she is healed?”
Walter nodded. “Of course. I just need a day to set things up.”
Ula blinked. “Leave here? Leave Merry?”
Merry cupped her jaw. “I am just a short flight away, Ula. You just need to call.”
Ula saw the solemn seriousness in her friend’s expression.
“Unless I am in heat, in which case, you can go fuck yourself.” Merry’s eyes twinkled.
Ula hugged her and murmured, “Next week?”
“Yup.”
“Do they know?” Ula jerked her head toward the guys in the living room who were talking to the foxes.
“Yup. I thought a sportsmanlike warning was appropriate.”
Kasim called out, “Miss Merry, are there any more slices of cheesecake?”
She glanced over. “Two left.”
“Can we have them?”
She nodded. “Yes, you can. Ula, get them some plates. I know they like licking things, but cheesecake deserves respect.”
