“As soon as the suppressors are off, you are going to hit a heat hard. That means a lot of naked fun time. Your body will help you out, but you are still gonna be sore for a few days.”
“You have gone through heats?”
“Yup. Every six months like clockwork. I head out to the boathouse with my cooler and supplies. Dive into the water when I can and come back out when I have it under control. Takes two to three days.”
“Why do you do it that way?”
“Bunnies need cuddles, and I am in no hurry. I find him, or I don’t. You were in rough shape after your burns, so I liked that I was able to support you through it. Set the table.”
Ula chuckled and set the table while Merry moved around her to put the food on. Salad, bread sticks, lasagna, and a carafe of water.
Ula heard cars arriving and exhaled slowly. “They are here.”
“Well, bunny, go greet your mates. Well, two out of three.”
Ula slapped her friend on the ass and headed to the door. It was time to see if they could withstand Merry. Few men could.
Chapter Three
Merry looked at the two bookend alphas that Ula had scored. “Please, tell me that the other one has short hair just so she can tell you apart at a distance.” She took a bite of the lasagna and looked at the two with curiosity. “All foxes?”
Kasim looked at her. “Yes. Walter has short hair and has already agreed to meet Ula based on her photo.”
Ula mumbled around a mouthful, “He has?”
Merry chuckled at Ula’s blush. “Suck it up, scooter. Destiny has spoken.”
Clark was blunt when he said, “You are an omega as well.”
Merry dunked a breadstick in the sauce on her plate. “Yup. Sort of. I wasn’t, but I am now.”
“Your alphas haven’t found you?”
She popped the bite of bread into her mouth and grinned. “Nope. I had other stuff to do.”
Kasim asked, “Was it cooking? Because this is amazing.”
Ula smiled. “She can cook anything or arrange anything. She does amazing sushi as well.”
Merry watched as Kasim took a third slice, and Clark did the same. “It isn’t necessary to keep eating. I won’t be offended if you stop.”
Clark grinned. “This is great. Are these meatballs?”
“Sliced, but yes.”
“Ricotta?”
“Homemade. Yes.”
Kasim looked at her. “You make your own cheese?”
“Sure. Cheese, bread, cheesecake, lasagna.”
Ula smiled. “She can do just about anything. She decorated the house. The walls were stuccoed and painted by Merry. Anything that needs to be repaired is by Merry. She even built the boathouse.”
Clark blinked. “You have a boat?”
“No, just a boathouse. I use it when I need privacy.” She smiled and went back for more salad.
