He didn’t look satisfied and followed her.

“Hey, guys, Raina would like to talk to Ms. Tomhave.”

They hadn’t gotten her aunt to move out of the chair. “Hello, Aunt.”

“There you are, you little bitch,” her aunt hissed.

“Yes, well, I can’t say the words I’d use to describe you.” She grinned back at Alex. “I’d probably get spanked.”

She giggled at the hot look that came into Alex’s eyes before she turned back to her aunt.

“Why aren’t you letting these nice men help you?”

“Because I don’t want help. I want to stay here.”

“So you can eat yourself to death?” Raina asked.

“Shut up, you little slut. I took care of you for how many years?”

Raina felt Alex at her back, but he thankfully didn’t stop her.

“That’s funny. All I can remember is you sitting in this room eating. Our grocery bills were three times what they normally were. I took care of the house and myself. I made sure I graduated high school and even started college courses. Did you know that? You were happy as long as you had food and someone to bring it to you.”

She held up a hand to get her aunt to stop. “Listen. You don’t get a choice. You have to leave. This has and will always be my house, and I don’t want you anywhere around it. You’ve taken enough from me.”

Meredith laughed. “Oh, you have no idea how much I’ve taken.”

Raina snorted. “I know you didn’t get any money because I put safeguards up to protect it. Some of the things you’ve taken are replicas that I replaced the real ones with when you moved in, and the things you’ve taken lately will be delivered back here from your storage garage where you tried to hide everything.”

“You can’t do that!” Meredith bellowed and started to struggle to move.

“Yes, she can, lady,” Sebastian said. “It’s all stolen property. So, you can either try to keep it and go to prison, or you can go to the facility that will take care of you.”

Raina worked hard to keep the smile off her face. Her aunt was getting everything she deserved. She looked at the men and could see their frustration with Meredith.

“Hey, Aunty. If you can get your fat ass up and out to the van, I’ll ensure you have some spending money for the rest of your life.”

“You little bitch.”

Alex came up behind her, wrapped an arm around her waist, and pressed his face against her ear. “Don’t antagonize her too much, but I think what you’re doing will work.”

Raina nodded and patted his arm. She was enjoying herself, but the way her aunt treated her all those years and how she hired a man to rape and beat her was enough to prevent the guilt from growing.

Chapter Fourteen

Alex stood back as Raina and the men coaxed and wrestled the older woman onto the gurney and into the van. He was so proud of his little. She was clever in manipulating her aunt, which helped tremendously.

Part of his mind was still on how she teased him about spanking her and defended him when she didn’t need to. If he wasn’t mistaken, Raina was as in love with him as he was with her, and he couldn’t be more thrilled.

He’d only seen a few rooms in the house, but he liked what he had seen so far. It was a very old manor house that had been modernized and well-maintained over the years.

He wondered if Raina ever had a butler because he thought they might need one. It would also help to have someone to oversee Raina when he was at work.

Alex took Raina’s hand as the trucks drove away. “How are you feeling?”

“Relieved and free but also sad.”

“Why sad, Baby?”
