She looked up at Alex and smiled. He always knew what she was thinking. It should have bothered her, but she liked not having to express herself all the time. She smiled up at him as she hugged him. “Thank you, Daddy.”

He sucked in a breath. “You had to start here and right now?”

She giggled and nodded.

“You’ll pay for that later.”

“Okay,” she said cheerfully, making him roll his eyes and then grin.

She pointed to a large doorway. “That’s where she was most of the time. Especially the last few years. She had a bed brought into the room.” She pointed to a screen. “It’s behind that. I was surprised she could make it to the hallway bathroom. I never figured out how she bathed herself. But then she stunk most of the time, so maybe she never did.”

Raina stood back and listened to the men as they encouraged her aunt to help while she cursed at them.

“She’s not a very nice person, is she?” Alex asked.

Raina snorted and shook her head. “There’s really nothing pleasant about her. I feel sorry for the place that has to take her.”

Alex chuckled.

One of the men walked up to them. “Hey, after they get the witch out of here, you’ll be ready to move in anytime. The man won’t be back. They caught him with a gun, and he’s back in jail.”

“Thank you.” Alex turned to Raina. “Hey, Baby, I want you to meet Sebastian. He’s the one that took care of this for us.”

She stared up at him.

“Why are you staring at him?” Alex asked.

“He looks like the prince from Cinderella.”

Alex rolled his eyes while Sebastian chuckled.

“I am way more handsome than this guy,” Sebastian said, pointing at Alex.

She gasped. “No. He’s more handsome than all the princes that have ever lived.”

Alex squeezed her. “Thank you, Baby. Please don’t get mad at him.”

“I’m not. I just want him to know the truth.”

“I do now. Thank you,” Sebastian said.

Raina could see his lips twitch but didn’t say anything.

“Thank you for all your help,” she said.

“You’re very welcome. I like helping nice people.”

“He said I was nice,” she whispered, looking up at Alex.

“Because you are.”

She smiled brightly. Her aunt screaming turned their attention to the group in the room.

“Can I go and say hi?”

Alex narrowed his eyes to her. “That’s fine, but I’ll be right behind you.”

“Why, the woman can’t move. She’d never be able to hurt me. She’d have to catch me first.”
