He nods as he continues to slowly move inside me.

We come together, swallowing each other’s moans with our mouths.

After I clean up and we’re tucked back into place, I can’t help but turn my back to him, facing the sink. I don’t want him to see the emotion on my face.

He moves behind me and wraps his arms around me, pulling my back flush to his front. I keep my head down. “Jade, look up at me.”

I do and my eyes meet his in the mirror. He can undoubtedly see them still full of tears.

“What’s wrong? Did I hurt you?”

I subtly shake my head and croak out, “Not yet.”

He sinks his face into my neck, squeezing me tight. He whispers, “I never want to hurt you.”

“Collin, I don’t want us to be a secret anymore. It was fun and exciting at first, and we both had our reasons, but now it just feels dirty and painful. I know it’s not our original deal, and I’m sorry I want to change things, but I want to be with you out in the open.”

He nods. “I know. I agree. I’m going to talk to Carter today. Just let me tell him first. Alone. Man-to-man.”

I’m shocked. I didn’t expect that from him. Telling Carter is a big deal for him. “You’ll do that? You’ll tell him we’re together?”

He kisses the spot where my neck meets my shoulder. “If I lose his friendship but gain you, it will be worth it.”

Now the tears officially let loose and roll down my cheeks.

“What about the new business? What if you lose that?”

“Nothing else matters to me right now but you. I’m willing to give up anything and anyone for you. You’re worth it. I…I…”

And at that exact moment, the door opens, and I hear my father’s voice. “You’ve got to be kidding me.” I turn and see him standing there with pure rage on his face. “Get your fucking pervert hands off my daughter right now.”

Just as Collin lifts his head and turns it, my father’s right fist connects with his cheek, sending him stumbling back.

“Oh my god! Dad, stop it!” I turn to Collin, who’s leaning back against the wall, blood trickling out of his lip. “Are you okay?”

He manipulates his jaw, seeming to make sure it’s still in place. “I’m fine. He’s not very strong.” He narrows his eyes at my father. Why is he poking the bear?

“Fitz, you’re nothing but a piece of shit. I’m going to kill you.”

Like the lunatics they both are, they growl and lunge at each other. They’re in a two-sided wrestler’s headlock with each other spinning out of the bathroom and around the house completely out of control.

They’re both big, muscular men. This is a recipe for disaster. I’m screaming as they tumble toward the back of the house.

They both go down hard, now rolling on the ground, knocking things over.

“Please stop!”

My dad stands and holds up his fists like a boxer, panting heavily. “Get up, Fitz. I’m going to kick your ass for even looking at her.”

“Dad!”

Collin slowly stands and wipes the blood from his mouth. They’re both completely out of breath. He holds up his fists, mirroring my father’s. “Bring it, old man.”

“Don’t ever fucking touch my daughter.”

Collin smirks. “I’vebeentouching her. Everywhere.Everywhere. For months.”

Oh. Fuck.
