“Jellyfish. Unfortunately it’s already dead,” he says. “But they can still sting.”

Then the rain starts. I stop walking and tilt my head back. Almost like catching snowflakes on my eyelashes; I just want to be in the moment. The rain is soft at the moment. I laugh and spin.

Remy pulls me into his arms and we dance. We dance to the soundtrack of the waves and the rain pattering on the sand. It’s silly and wonderful and romantic and so damn perfect. Eventually the rain intensifies and our clothes become saturated, sticking to our skin.

“We should probably get back before the storm intensifies,” Remy says.

“Yeah, it looks like there might be some thunderclouds rolling in.”

“Ava, promise me something,” he says, his voice full of urgency.

“What is it?”

“Promise me you won’t let them extinguish that fire inside you.” He cups my face. “The light in your eyes is the most beautiful thing in the world. It would be so cold to see it put out.”

I swallow hard. “I promise.”

Then he lowers his mouth and kisses me. I’m shocked by the passion and intensity of his first kiss. His lips coax mine open and then our tongues are tangling. And I’m ready to climb up his body.

I’ve never had a kiss like this. Of course any kiss before Remy was from fumbling boys who didn’t know what they were doing. Remy knows. Yet, this doesn’t feel like a move. This feels real and in the moment. Like he kissed me because he couldn’t live another moment without knowing what my lips tasted like.

Thunder rumbles behind us and Remy pulls back from our kiss.

“We gotta go inside, sugar.” Then he picks me up again and runs back up the sand to our hotel room.

Remy

I come up behind her and grip her hips. We’re both drenched from the rain, but I don’t care, I just want more of her. I lean down and run my nose up the side of her throat, inhaling her sweet scent. She smells like sunshine and rain and goddamn forever.

“I can’t get enough of the way you smell.”

“Is that a good thing?”

I rock my pelvis into her plump ass, nudging her with my erection. “A very good thing.” I kiss her neck, licking and nipping along her tender flesh. “Sugar, tell me to stop.”

“Why would I do that? I don’t want you to stop, Remy. I want you to strip all my clothes off and do everything that your kisses promised.”

“You felt that?” I spin her around to face me. “This isn’t a one-night stand, Ava, tell me you understand that.”

She swallows. “I understand that.”

“Do you want to shower first and warm up from the rain?”

“No. I want you to warm me up.” She peels off her wet shirt that’s been slicked to every curve of her chest. The bra she’s wearing is sheer and since it’s also wet, it’s completely see-thru.

“Ava,” I choke on her name. “You’re the sexiest fucking woman I’ve ever seen. Just like this.” I strip out of my clothes because they’re wet and because I’m dying to get my skin on her skin. “Don’t take the bra off just yet.” I tell her as I grip my now bare cock.

Her eyes drop to my erection and she licks her lips.

“Sugar, you keep looking at my dick like it’s a snack and I’m gonna have to fuck your mouth.”

“Remy,” she breathes. “Your words.”

“Too much?” I ask.

She shakes her head.
