“Oh, sweetheart, I’ve had a one-way ticket to hell booked since theday I was born. I may as well enjoy the trip,” he said with a wink.

He lifted his hand again, aiming the gun directly at Leandra’sforehead but keeping his eyes on me.

“What’s it to be, Star?” he said and this time, he cocked the trigger.

I looked from him to Leandra, realizationfinallydawning on her at justhow much trouble she was in. Her eyes were wide, pleading for me to save her life.

She wasn’t my friend, in fact, she’d gone out of her way to be a pain in my ass from the minute I’d met her. But did I hate her enough to see her life snuffed out?

The alternative was spending a night with Kai fucking Wolfe, lettinghim do whatever he wanted to my body.

Fucking hell.

Chapter 13

Kai

Rileywassilenttheentire way home. I didn’t bother to talk to her, Iknew I wouldn’t get anywhere with her. She was fuming, which was putting it mildly.

I hadn’t planned to offer the deal, and if I was honest, I don’t reallyknow what possessed me. I’d never needed to bribe a girl into having sex with me before, I had a number of whores on my phone who would drop everything they were doing to come over and let me do whatever the fuck I wanted to them.

But Riley, she was the only one Iactuallywanted, and right now, shehated me.

The only conclusion I could come to as to why I made the offer wasout of sheer desperation. Desperation from her being in my head for a week and not being any closer to getting my dick inside her.

One thing was for sure though, I wasn’t going to force myself on her. Ifuckingdespisedrapists. Call me a criminal with a moral compass or whatever, but if I had my way, I’d castrate every fucker who ever forced themselves on a woman.

That said, I wasn’t convinced Rileydidn’twant me. I’d seen the lustreflected on her face when I told her I would put her over my knee and spank her. I’d seen how her pulse sped up when I was near her, and I’d caught her eyes roaming over my body several times since she’d been in my company.

Perhaps this deal was a good thing, Riley’s head told her she neededto hate me, but her body behaved in the opposite way. Perhaps she just needed a little shove in the right direction to get her head and her body on the same page. She didn’t need to know I wouldn’t actually go as far as forcing myself on her.

Traffic back to my penthouse was lighter, and it wasn’t long until wepulled into the underground car park. Once we were parked and Frank opened my door, I stepped out and offered my hand to Riley, but the stubborn little thing slid out of the car and stomped past me without my assistance. She marched herverycute ass over to the elevator, and I followed with thoughts of all the things I’d like to do to her ass when I finally got the chance.

“She must have been a good friend,” I said when the doors slidclosed and the elevator started taking us up to the penthouse.

I didn’t think for one second that was true. From watching Riley andBlaze interact in the warehouse, it was clear neither woman liked the other.

So why then had Riley agreed to the deal?

“That woman has never, nor will ever be my friend,” Riley huffed,folding her arms across her chest but refusing to meet my gaze.

“Why did you agree to the deal then? Why not let me kill her?”

Now she turned to face me, piercing me with a venomous look.“Because I’m not like you, Kai. I can’t just stand back and letsomeone be murdered for the sake of it.”

“So you’d rather let me fuck you and violate you in ways you can onlyimagine, just to save the whore’s life?”

I allowed myself to bathe in the smugness that washed through mewhen I noted Riley’s reaction to my words. Her pupils dilated, her pulse point in her delicate neck thumped harder, and her breath caught.

Riley wanted me, she was just in denial.

It was her reaction that made my hand smash the emergency stopbutton bringing the elevator to a halt. I had Riley pinned against the wall, her wrists gathered together and held in my hands between us, and my hips pressed against her. A small breathless whisper left her lips when I lowered my mouth to her ear.

“Or did you agree ‘cos you liked the idea of all the things I could do toyou? Did the thought of me fucking your cunt so hard you see stars make you agree?”

My tongue darted out and licked the curve of her jawline, trailing itdown to the sensitive area of her neck causing a shudder to pass through her.
