We began moving as one, our bodies in step with what we desperately needed from one another—me needing to dominate her. And her needing to prove she could handle all of me. I pumped into her, claiming her mouth with ferocity. Her entire body seized as her inner walls tightened around my shaft. As she fell over into the abyss, my cock jerked and exploded deep inside her womb. Panting, I collapsed beside her and tugged her into my arms.
“You’re mine now, Riley. Federal agent or not. We’re going to have to figure this out—if we don’t, you know where it will lead.”
She nodded against my chest. “Can you just hold me for now?”
“Go to sleep, Tesoro. We can talk more tomorrow.”
Her body relaxed against me as her breaths evened out. I knew this would likely end badly—how could it not?
The road only had one path that set us both free… and I wasn’t sure she would take it.

Riley
My body was wrapped in a blanket of warmth when I woke. Vincenzo was sleeping soundly with his arm, holding me snug against him. I wiggled myself out from under his grasp slowly and sat up on the edge of the bed. My head spun with confusion as I stared at the sleeping man beside me. Standing, I grabbed his discarded T-shirt and made my way into the kitchen.
My entire existence hinged on me bringing this family down. For years, we had worked on building a case against the Anastasi’s for gun running and money laundering. We had suspicions they had ties to La Lama—a man wanted for the death of hundreds. The people he killed were men who deserved their fates, just not at the hands of a vigilante.
I spotted my chef’s coat laying on the floor and bent to pick it up. I tugged my phone out and sighed. It was dead. Scanning the counter in the kitchen, I spotted his charger. As soon as I plugged my phone up, it beeped with a dozen messages. Each one read the same—Agent Jackson had been trying to contact me. I leaned into the counter and pressed his contact.
Agent Jackson's pissed off voice barked into the phone. “Agent Lawson, where in the hell have you been?”
“Sorry. My phone died, and I fell asleep.”
“I was worried we were going to have to send someone to your place.”
“No. That’s unnecessary. What’s the matter? Why so many calls?”
“We got word that Dmitri Ivanov is in town. Have you been able to determine a link between him and the Anastasis?”
“No…” I jumped at the sound of a throat clearing behind me. My eyes connected with Vincenzo. He was leaned against the doorway, wearing only a pair of fitted black boxers. “I am not sure there is anything to connect.”
“Bullshit. There has to be something.”
Vincenzo watched me closely, listening to every word I said. I wasn’t lying—technically. I hadn't found anything that would help put his family in jail. Granted, I knew his family was searching for Ivanov. That detail wasn't important.
“Look, I told you there isn’t anything. I will not make something up to put an innocent man in jail.”
“If you don’t find something, and soon, Pritz is going to pull you and go another route.”
“I’ll find something. Give me time.”
“You better.”
I laid the phone down on the counter and sighed. Things were unraveling faster than I expected.
“You lied to him.”
I turned toward Vincenzo and smiled. “Not really. I have nothing that ties you to Ivanov in the way he wants.”
“Why did you lie, though?” I fidgeted with my hands as he stepped forward and braced me against the counter. “Why are you risking your career for me?”
“You know why.”
“Say it, Riley. I need to hear it from you.”
I cupped his cheek and ran my thumb over his lips. “I've fallen in love with you. It shouldn’t have happened. When I met you at the club, I thought… no, I hoped I could live the fantasy with you there, since an actual life with you wasn’t possible.” I laced my hands in his hair and pressed a kiss to his lips. “I was supposed to dismantle you and your family. My entire purpose was to prove you were La Lama. But that seems stupid now.”
