Together Again

Adam

I posted Harold's confession online and sent it to the group chat as well.

Luckily the sex tape had a time stamp, and it was easy to prove that it had happened two years ago.

Although I didn't mention wanting to pay Amanda, a lot of people took my side in choosing Crystal.

I didn't press any charges against them. I decided that they weren't worth it.

Besides, it seemed like he really did love Crystal. I couldn't blame him for wanting to go that far for her sake.

Amanda left the country from what I had heard, and I never heard from her again. I’m glad I didn’t give her the money though. Who knows what she would have told the media?

As for Harold, I didn’t fire him. But maybe he couldn't handle the way his colleagues talked about him, so he quit.

Things didn't just change instantly and overnight for me either. It took a while for everyone to forget about it. I had to endure female patients looking at my groin during checkups and whatnot. It was completely exhausting, but I could put up with it because of a certain someone.

Crystal didn't resume work immediately, and I waited patiently for her arrival.

She had unblocked me, so I spent my time texting and calling her to keep me from losing my sanity.

During her time away, I went shopping with Catherine.

She directed me to where she had gotten the ring she had used to propose to Sarah.

It was an expensive store…but not to me. Most of the rings weren't as expensive as I wanted for Crystal.

"What about this one?" Catherine showed me a white gold ring. It had a band lined with crushed sapphire and diamonds and a beautiful sparkling rock on top of it.

It was perfect.

"Thank you," I said to her. "I'll buy this one."

"Are you sure it will fit?" she asked.

"It will. It's slightly bigger, but that means it will be good for the long run," I said, "But I can always get it resized or buy her another one."

"Must be nice being rich," Catherine sighed.

"I love how you act like I don't know who your father is," I sighed as the salesperson accepted the payment.

We returned to the hospital and I got ready to propose.

As I secretly readied my lines in my office, Crystal opened the door and walked in.

"Good morning, princess," I said with a warm smile.

"Well, good morning, Dr. Hunt," she said.

The way she saidDr. Hunttold me there was a different air around her.

She closed the door and locked it.

I gulped, "Is everything okay?"
