"I didn't betray you, Crystal," I said, "I know what you saw, but believe me that's not how it happened. It's not what happened."
"Then what happened?" She asked, "What could have possibly happened that you two were like that? I heard some people say that she's your favorite amongst all your women."
Wow, hearing her say it out loud like that really makes me scum, doesn't it?
"I'll tell you everything," I promised her, "But promise you'll hear me out?"
"I will," she said, "just don't let go of me yet. I can't let you see me crying again. I won't feed your ego trip."
That's my Crystal. Just the way I love her.
When she finished crying, I was free to tell her what happened.
So, I told her everything. What happened that morning. The money I offered to pay Amanda. Amanda's threats to blackmail me. Harold's cock-blocking. Then Harold's blackmail and how he had leaked the images and videos.
"Oh, I also broke his nose, before heading here," I added when I was done with the story.
"All of that happened," she said as she shook her head in disbelief.
"You don't believe me?" My shoulders dropped.
"Catherine did mention it was a misunderstanding, but I was too afraid to find out if it really was," she replied. “But it makes a lot of sense now. I thought something was off about Harold at the end of yesterday. I hit him too."
"That's good to hear," I smirked.
She smiled as well, and the light had returned to her eyes.
"But still," she continued, "I was feeling really betrayed and didn't know how I'd face you again. Or if I'd let you face me. I just thought…that changing you was impossible."
I brought out my phone and showed her the blacklisted number and the dates they were blocked.
"The day I decided to change was the very same day I deleted the past," I said.
"What if they need you for a medical emergency?" she asked.
"Well, they can just call the hospital directly," I shrugged.
"And my aunt?"
"There's really nothing between us anymore. You know she won't even let anything happen," I replied.
"I know," she said with a smile as she looked at her hands, "I'm sorry."
"Nuh uh," I shook my head negatively, "I'm the one bearing the apologies today."
"I know, but I've really given you a hard time," she said.
"It was hell. Everything reminded me of you," I said.
She leaned in close and kissed my lips, "Will that be enough?"
"Barely. But I need to resolve this matter," I replied, "And after that, I have something important to tell you."
"Really?" She raised a brow, "I'll wait then. How do you plan on resolving it?"
"With Harold's help," I answered with a smirk as I showed her my phone.
