I had a guilty feeling that I was leading him away from his job, but this was going to be worth it.
"Are we leaving today?" he asked.
"Tomorrow," I replied, "I'll get our plane tickets."
"No need. We’ll use my helicopter,” Adam offered.
“Rich flex much?” I asked with a chuckle.
“The girls always did love it,” he said, "Do you love it too?"
"Perhaps a little," I smirked.
Adam
It was the opportunity I needed.
I had planned to talk with Crystal about us, but with the visit to see her parents coming up, everything else could wait.
Parents?
No, she had said family.
I was delighted and nervous.
When we arrived in New York, I felt like I was going to pass out due to anxiety.
I had changed a lot.
The things that didn't bother me before bothered me now.
But no matter, I was definitely going to tell her how I felt about her and move on to the next level with her.
I was going to achieve the impossible.
"You ready?" Crystal asked me.
We were at her mother's place in New York, a nice-looking suburban home.
"I am," I said as I mentally prepared myself.
She pressed the doorbell and waited.
"Coming!" A female voice announced as the sound of approaching footsteps got closer and closer.
The door opened and there was a young girl behind it. Probably in her mid-twenties and beautiful. Not as beautiful as my Crystal though.
"Big sis!" The girl exclaimed as she embraced Crystal.
"Hey, Ruby," Crystal hugged her back.
"Is he the one?" Ruby asked in a whisper and Crystal nodded. The younger girl smirked and stretched her hand towards me, "Nice to meet you. You look oddly familiar though."
"Nice to meet you too, Ruby," I said with a smile as I shook her hand, "I'm Dr. Adam Hunt."
"Oh yeah, the famous doctor! But I think I recognize you from something else," she sighed as I let go of her hand.
We went into the house, and it smelled heavenly.
