Chapter Two

When I got to the poolroom, I was surprised to find that Riven and Zarek were the only people there. They were both already in the pool, swimming lengths, seemingly competing with each other to see who was the fastest.

I stood by the side of the pool for a few long moments, taking the time to watch them before they realised I was there. The overalls they’d been wearing had done a good job of hiding just how muscular these guys were. Now they were wearing nothing but swimming trunks, although I couldn’t get a good enough view of them to work out if they were tight enough to show off the goods yet. But it was impossible to miss the way the muscles in their arms and backs rippled beneath their blue skin as they moved effortlessly through the water.

My mouth was watering as I watched them, imagining what it would be like to explore every inch of their toned bodies with my hands. And maybe with my mouth too. There was a sudden heat at my core, and I squeezed my thighs together to try and alleviate it, but, if anything, the movement just made it even worse.

The two men had reached the other end of the pool, turned and pushed off against the side with the effortless grace of an Olympic swimmer, and were heading back in my direction when they first saw me. They couldn’t keep their eyes off me as they swam closer, pulling themselves out of the pool once they had reached me to sit on the edge with their feet still dangling into the water.

“Hey,” Zarek said, smiling up at me. “We’re glad you could make it.”

It took me a minute to work out that I was staring at them with my mouth hanging wide open. Apparently, the beauty of their bodies while swimming was nothing compared to being up close to them, watching droplets of water trickling down over the rippled muscles of their abs. All I wanted was to kneel down and drag my tongue over every perfect inch of their bodies.

And that was before I even noticed the tight swimming trunks that displayed very impressive-looking bulges. I gulped audibly, but hoped they didn’t hear me. These two men were like perfect works of art that I wanted to defile in the most wicked ways possible.

“Hi,” I said eventually, wincing as my voice came out more like a squeak.

“It’s nice and warm in here,” Riven said. “Why don’t you take the robe off and come join us?”

I hesitated as I remembered the tiny bikini I was wearing underneath the robe. Even though I’d never been particularly self-conscious of my body, except maybe the little bit of roundness on my tummy, I knew I would look shabby when standing alongside these two fine specimens.

Oh well, I would just have to get into the water as quickly as I could.

With trembling hands, I unfastened the belt around my waist and slowly pulled the robe off my shoulders. Both Klurian men gasped, and their silver eyes roamed over every inch of my body. A shiver of lust moved through me, and I had to admit to myself that the way they were staring at me was the best ego boost I’d ever received.

I draped the robe over the back of a nearby chair, then lowered myself to sit down at the edge of the pool between them. Their knees brushed against mine, and even that small touch was enough to send tingles racing over my skin.

“You look beautiful,” Zarek said, his voice suddenly deep and husky.

“Thank you,” I replied, feeling my face grow hot as they continued to stare at me.

To try and decrease the intensity of the moment, I decided to strike up some small talk.

“I thought there would be more people here than this,” I said.

Riven shrugged one huge shoulder. “Not many aliens like to swim. The pool is here for the humans to use, but we’ve started coming here on our breaks because it’s quiet.”

“Oh,” I replied, trying to ignore how every inch of my body felt like it was on fire from being so close to them. I really needed to distract myself if I didn’t want to make a fool of myself by shamelessly pouncing on one of them. “So, ummm, where did all the Klurian women go, if you don’t mind me asking?”

“There was a plague,” Riven answered, his voice soft. “We were young when it happened, so we don’t remember much about it, but it only affected the women. They were wiped out within weeks of the plague’s first appearance.”

“Oh no,” I said quietly. I knew it had to have been something bad, but I hadn’t realised it would be as bad as that. They had grown up without their mother, and had never experienced what it was like to fall in love with a woman. That didn’t seem fair. “That’s terrible. I’m so sorry.”

Zarek smiled softly at me. “It was a long time ago. And it was sad, but now tests have shown that human women are compatible mates, we have all been given a new hope.”

Despite the positive words, a sadness still lingered, and I hated that I had caused it with my question. Luckily, I could think of a way to distract them.

“I bet I can beat you in a race!” I shouted out before diving into the water.

I made the most of my head start, swimming as fast as I could. From behind me, I could hear them laughing for a moment before they both slipped back into the pool.
