Thatfuckingbastardistrying to take what is ours. It might have taken me longer than Atty and Beau to realize, but Erin is mine... ours.

“Why didn’t you warn her first?” Beau asks, clearly exasperated.

“Because she will look different and act differently, and he will know,” I say, checking my gun before pushing it back in its holster.

Atty is paying close attention to the tracker we placed on Erin’s phone. The car finally does what we expect it to, and Marco drives towards the south coast.

“Let’s rescue her,” I say.

“Hopefully, he doesn’t harm her,” Beau hisses. Still pissed off with me for allowing her to get into the car with him.

“Her father wants Marco dead for killing his niece, because he knows if he gets away that Erin’s life will always be on the line,” I say.

“If he so much as touches her, I will cut off his head,” Atty growls, taking a dagger and sliding it over his palm.

I shake my head. “He won’t touch her. He wants her for himself. “

“If he so much as puts a finger on her, I’m going to cut his body up while he is still breathing,” Atty snarls as he turns his knife over in his hand. “He needs to be tortured for making her cry. For killing her cousin. He deserves nothing but a slow, painful ending.”

I blink hard and nod my head. “And I’ll help you.”

Atty twists in his seat. Surprised because I’m just a bullet in the head kind of guy. But then I don’t let my emotions get in the way. Not until her.

“Yes, because she isn’t his to have.”

Beau’s narrowed eyes look into the rear-view mirror at me. “What are you saying?”

“I’m saying we are going to get our girl back.”

Because she is ours.

Our life is hardly the kind to have a loving relationship. We’re always traveling the world, or have endangered clients staying with us while we eliminate the threat to their lives.

Unfortunately, that would mean if someone belonged to us, her life would always be in jeopardy. Not that we would allow anyone to harm what is ours.

“You’re accepting her?” Atty asks.

“She needs to know everything about our lives. She needs to know how protected she’ll be and Erin might not like that. She might not want our life.”

Beau nods. “Because she’s already been living in a gilded cage.”

“Exactly,” I reply. “But if you two men want Erin, then so do I. If I fear anything at all, it’s not giving us and her the chance of a life together.”

Chapter 20

Erin

I’mshakingwithfearas he shows me the blade in his hand. “You should have told your father I could look after you,” Marco hisses in my ear. “I would have protected you.”

A single tear slowly rolls down my cheek. “I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay, beautiful. We’re going to make it better now. Aren’t we?” He walks to the window. I notice he’s nervous as he checks around outside.

“What are you going to do to me?” I whimper. My cheeks sting as the tears flow more freely.

“If you’re a good girl, we will disappear somewhere together.” He stands in front of me and pulls me closer to him until his cock is pressing against my stomach. “If not...” he raises the blade so I can see what he means but saying no more words.
