I regained my composure and felt a familiar flutter in my stomach. “How did you end up here?” I asked Spencer as he approached me with a warm smile. “I thought you were still in England.”

“I was,” Spencer answered, his voice filled with amusement. “But I decided to come back early. And I’m glad Mercedes posted a picture of you all on Instagram and tagged your location, or I might have had to spend all night searching from club to club to find you.” He chuckled, his charming smile making my heart skip a beat.

The DJ’s voice cut through the music, “All right folks, we’ve got thirty seconds until midnight, so find the person you want to kiss and get ready to count down from ten.”

Spencer’s smile wavered slightly as he said, “Seems like I made it just in time. Unless you have other plans?”

I couldn’t resist him any longer, and I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts. As I stepped forward, our eyes locked. I saw the desire in his gaze, a reflection of my own intense feelings, and I closed the gap between us, my body drawn to him like a magnet.

My hands trembled as I placed them on Spencer’s chest, feeling the contours of his muscles through his shirt. I could sense his heart pounding just as fast as mine. The warmth of his skin seeped into mine, making my senses come alive.

Electricity pulsed between us as I gazed into his eyes, and I saw he felt it too. He inched closer, his breath hot on my face, and I felt the tension inside me rising, my body yearning for his touch. There was no going back now.

He met my lips on the count of two, unable to wait those last seconds. The kiss was firm yet gentle, his tongue lightly grazing the seam of my lips, teasing with the promise of more, hinting at the intimacy to come. I was enwrapped in the moment, my mind consumed by the way he was kissing me.

When we parted, I was barely aware of the cheers and excitement surrounding us. But then he leaned in again, and I thought he was going to repeat the kiss. Instead, he whispered into my ear.

“This takes me back to our night together. I haven’t been able to get you out of my mind.”

I struggled to catch my breath, my heart racing as I told him I felt the same way.

“Why don’t we go outside and take in the New Year’s Eve festivities?” he suggested, his eyes alight with excitement as he offered me his arm. A smile spread across my face at the prospect, and as I took his hand, I felt weightless with happiness.

We walked out of the club and the noise and heat from the place immediately dissipated, replaced by the cool night air and the sounds of the city coming to life. Spencer confidently led the way through the bustling crowds, his arm wrapped around me.

“Ah, my dear, what a night this is turning out to be,” Spencer said, a smile lighting up his face. “The crowds are thick, but don’t worry, I’ll expertly navigate us through.”

I laughed, feeling at ease with him. “You seem quite the expert, Spencer. I’ve never seen this many people in Times Square,” I said as we made our way through the throngs of people. “This is my first time being here on New Year’s Eve.”

“Well, then I’m glad I’m here to show it to you,” he replied, as he took my hand and pulled me close to him.

His embrace warmed me as the sound of horns and cheers filled the air, the bright lights of Times Square illuminating us.

It wasn’t just Spencer’s warm body that caught my attention, but also the way he looked at me, with a sparkle in his eyes and a smile on his face, like he was seeing me for the first time.

“I couldn’t stop thinking about you the whole time I was in England,” Spencer whispered. “I had to come back and see you.”

“I’m glad you did,” I replied, as we locked lips amidst the chaos of the New Year’s Eve celebrations. His soft, warm lips moved against mine in perfect harmony, making me shiver.

When we broke apart, Spencer gazed into my eyes with a look of pure longing. “I know this may not be the simplest situation, but my feelings for you are irrefutable,” he said in a hushed voice. “I want to spend this night with you and bask in the warmth of our connection. Will you come with me to my hotel?”

I stood before him, my heart pounding in my chest. Spencer’s eyes were locked onto mine, his gaze intense and filled with a longing that matched my own. I wanted to respond to him, to give in to the desires that had been building inside of me, but I hesitated. The musical was my top priority, and I couldn’t risk it all for just another one-night stand.

“What’s wrong?” Spencer asked, his voice a low rumble that sent shivers down my spine.

I shook my head, struggling to find the words. “I just can’t, Spencer. The show has to come first.”

He stepped closer, his hand reaching out to tuck a strand of hair behind my ear. “I understand that, London, but I can’t ignore the way I feel about you. The chemistry between us is undeniable.”

I closed my eyes, feeling torn. Part of me wanted to throw caution to the wind and give in to the passion that was crackling between us, but the rational part of me feared the consequences.

Spencer must have sensed my inner turmoil, because he leaned in, his lips brushing against my ear. “I promise you, London, I won’t let anything get in the way of the show. I just want to bask in this moment with you.”

I couldn’t resist his words any longer. With a soft sigh, I gave in and pressed my lips to his. The kiss was electric, a perfect storm of desire and need. I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him closer as I lost myself in the moment.

“I’ve been waiting for this for so long,” Spencer whispered as we broke apart, his breath hot against my cheek.

I smiled, feeling a thrill of excitement as I realized I had, too. “Me too,” I replied, and as he took my hand, I knew I was ready to take a chance on something truly magnificent.
