“You okay?” I ask her once we get back to the car.
“Honestly? I’m not sure. I just assumed it would be a boy. If he turned out anything like you, we’d be okay. You’re fucked up, but nothing like me. All I can think about is the environment I grew up in.”
“Don’t let that shit take over your brain. You’re nothing like your mother.”
“But aren’t I? I’ve murdered like four people. I’m literally sitting here today with no regrets over taking people’s lives. I’ve fucked so many people I can’t even count. You’ve been nothing but good to me and I can’t even tell you how I feel about you. I’m so fucked up, Maddox.” She won’t even look at me. She’s just staring out the window.
“You forget I was there too. I’m not any better. All those people deserved to die. They weren’t good people. You don’t feel guilty because you know I’m right.” She doesn’t respond, but I didn’t expect her to either. When she knows I’m right about something, she likes to shut me out.
When we get home, she retreats to the bedroom. She does this all the time. If I give her some space, she’ll come find me in a few hours. She never apologizes, but she doesn’t need to.
I’m up to my elbows in paperwork when Belle walks into my office. She’s wearing an oversized T-shirt and leggings. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen her this way. She looks so natural, so beautiful.
“Wow.”
She looks at me, confused. “What? Do I have something on me?”
“No. I was just thinking that I’ve never seen you this way. You look beautiful.” I swear I see a blush creep up her cheeks.
“That’s enough of that.” She laughs, walking over to me. She straddles my lap. “Whatcha doin’ in here?” She grins before leaning down, peppering kisses over my neck.
“I was working. I’m not anymore.” I run my hands up her shirt, and her skin feels warm against my fingers. “You’re so sexy.”
“You’re so cheesy.” She laughs, pressing her lips against mine.
The two of us are incapable of just kissing. The minute our lips touch, it’s like a frenzy. She rocks against my body and I’m immediately hard.
“Do you feel that?” I groan. “That’s what you do to me.”
“Fuck me, Maddox.” She hovers over my lap while I unzip my pants.
“Take off your pants.”
Standing up, she shimmies out of her leggings. Just as I figured, she isn’t wearing any panties. She situates herself perfectly on top of me and I groan at the contact. “Fuuuuck,” I groan.
“You always feel so good.” She moans, riding my cock. I can’t get enough of her. My hands are trying to touch every inch of her body that I possibly can.
It doesn’t matter how many times we do this; I’ll never get tired of the way it feels.
“I’m gonna come, I’m almost there.” She picks up her pace and my hands travel to her neck. I apply some pressure and her head rolls back in ecstasy.
We come down from our high together. “And that’s why we shouldn’t wait so long next time.” She grins.
“Why not? That was pretty incredible.” She stands up and I can immediately feel the loss.
“Let’s go to bed.” She puts her hand out for me to grab.
Belle
Months fly by quickly. I’m distracted by learning everything I can about the construction company, getting tangled up in bed with Maddox as often as possible, and doctor’s appointments. My life is far different than I ever expected.
There’s about two weeks before my due date and I’m standing in the kitchen, making tacos, waiting on Maddox to get home. The music is up, and I’m completely wrapped up in it.
“You scared the shit out of me!” I drop the spatula I’m holding when I turn around and see Maddox standing in the doorway.
“I’m sorry. You looked so beautiful. I didn’t wanna interrupt.”
“Why are you always so fucking cheesy?” I roll my eyes, and he laughs.
