Page 5 of Shared By Two Orcs

“Do you want to go to the canteen?”

I normally do. I’m rarely eager to go back to my empty home, but with every step, I look around for that damn orc, and I know that I need to clear my mind. My body is too wound up, and I’m not sure what it is abouthimthat has done this to me.

Shaking my head, I blow out a breath and try to actually pay attention to what she’s saying. “I think I’m going to take a walk.”

“You know you’re not supposed to go out there.”

I give a half shrug. “It’s not like they ever stop me. I’m not hurting anything.”

“What are you going to do when one of the patrols catches you out there?” She nudges me with her shoulder, but I’m not feeling particularly playful.

“I’ll tell him the border guards let me out there.” My voice is deadpan.

Jinnow cocks her head, and I can see her gaze boring into the side of my face from the corner of my eye. But I don’t look at her, and she finally looks forward again. “Okay,” she mutters.

She must see that there is something off about me, but I’m glad that isn’t pressing. It’s not often I don’t just say what I’m thinking, but right now, all I’m thinking is I clearly need a dip in cold water or a good lay. Or both.

I tell Jinnow I’ll see her tomorrow as the path diverges and she goes toward the center of the encampment while I make my way out toward the border. I’m not really supposed to go out into the woods, but I usually tell them I’m going to pick herbs and they don’t check.

“Hey!” a guard shouts behind me, right on cue.

I force my lips up into a sheepish smile as I spin around, clutching my chest. “I am so sorry. My head was elsewhere and I forgot to check in!”

The orc looks me up and down, the suspicion in his eyes lessening. He relaxes a little bit, huffing under his breath. “What are you doing then?”

I gesture to the back slung on my shoulder. It’s actually for my water pouch and snacks I take won into the mines, but it’s a great prop for this. “Refilling water and collecting herbs before night falls.”

The sky is still bright with the sun just kissing the horizon. I have another hour of daylight before it’s too dark for me to be out, truthfully.

The guard looks around before his eyes land back on me. This time, his eyes trace a slow path down my body, and oddly enough, it doesn’t send a thrill through me. I just think of the orc from the mines, of how I felt underhisgaze, and it wasn’t like this.

Finally, he nods, taking a half step back. “Be back for dark or we’ll send someone out after you.”

I nod, giggling slightly. “Okay!” I take a few steps toward the woods, still staring back at the orc. “I will!”

As soon as I turn around, though, I drop the act, strolling down the path that leads to the stream. It’s my favorite place to relax, and I breathe in the cool air as I make my way to it.

On the bank, I drop my bag and strip down, not even bothering to check if anyone else is in the woods. In all my time out here, I’ve never seen anyone else. It would be the perfect opportunity, but I’ve never thought about escaping.

The water is cool, but not unbearably so, as I slip my bare feet down the smooth bank. I sigh softly as I sink into the shoulder deep stream, dipping my head back to rinse the dirt of the mines off of me.

Tilting back, I float, staring up at the sky. I came out here to clear my mind, but it instantly drifts back to the orc from earlier, spinning a bunch of questions. Will he be there again tomorrow? Why was he staring at me? Whoishe?

The longer I think of our brief interaction, though, the more heat pools low in my stomach and I rub my thighs together, wishing the ache would leave me. But it doesn’t, and I let my eyes fall closed as I let the memory of him fill my mind.

“It has been so long,” I murmur, my hands skating down my naked body. My skin is already sensitive from the cooling air and the water, and as I brush a thumb over one nipple, pleasure shoots through my core.

I moan softly, and I picture my interaction with the orc going differently. My fingers caress my breasts as I think about him walking toward me instead of standing still, his eyes drifting back down me. One hand trails a line of water down my exposed skin like the fire that lit me up when I caught him looking at me.

Just as I reach the apex between my legs, he stops before me, reaching toward my face, and my body trembles in anticipation. Fuck, just the thought of a taste of him has me–

I jerk up the second I hear the snap of a branch, and it was not an animal. Even with my head half submerged, I heard the heavy footsteps. “Hello?”

Scanning the woods, I twist, spotting an orc who has stopped just behind a tree. He’s not trying to hide as my eyes land on him, and I blink, shocked by the way that my heart flutters.

He’s handsome, his face in perfect portions and without a visible scar. That’s rare among orcs and while I have no qualms with the ruggish look, he wears the neat and clean style well. Even his hair is shorn close to the scalp, a light dusting of black covering his green scalp.

I’m surprised by the way warmth starts to stir in me. It’s not like it was with the other orc. It’s not a punch of intensity but more of steady heat moving over me. I’m just as enthralled, pulled to him, when my mind finally catches up.
